Over the last 2 weeks we have enjoyed two wonderful assemblies.
Dominic’s class took us back to Tudor times with an inventive X
Factor theme and Lisa and Martha’s class immersed us in the Stone
Age. Both classes were very entertaining and, as well as
demonstrating all that they had been learning, showcased their
many talents including dance, acting and singing. These classes
have set a high standard for class assemblies this year.
Last week we started a new initiative where children take it in turns
to have access at lunchtimes to our library areas around the school.
This is part of our Life Long Reader project. On each floor there are
areas with soft seating and new book shelves with a selection of
books for the appropriate age group.
As you know there are parents’ meetings after half term. Please
speak with your child’s class teacher if you haven’t yet booked an
appointment. I look forward to seeing many of you during that week.

PARENTS’ EVENING WEEK A reminder that it is Parents’ Evening
Week straight after half term with the late night on Wednesday 2nd
November. If you have not booked an appointment, please speak
to your child’s teacher.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------INDIVIDUAL PHOTOGRAPHS Your child should have brought
home the individual photographs. Please complete your order
clearly and return it with your payment in the envelope provided by
Wednesday 2nd November. Please also include your child’s name
and class on the envelope. Late orders will attract an additional fee
to cover postage.
SECONDARY TRANSFER A further reminder that the last day for
apply is Monday 31st October 2016. All applications have to be
made online at www.eadmissions.org.uk
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------DINNER MONEY The cost of meals for the next half term (31st
October -21st December 2016) will be £76.00.
Dinner money is payable in advance and should be settled weekly.
A reminder if you wish to change the meal option for your child it
has to be done for the entire half term.

FLU VACCINATIONS Children in Years 1, 2 and 3 will be given a
flu vaccination in school on Wednesday 9th November. Please
complete and return to the office the consent form (with all boxes
completed) as soon as possible.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------COMMUNITY BREAKFAST The provision of breakfast in the hall
from 8am until 8.4am is for Kilmorie families and staff.
Please arrive within this time to get served. If you arrive late, this
impacts on the time that is needed to clear the hall in readiness for
the start of school.
We rely on donations towards the costs to enable us to continue to
keep this provision available to the Kilmorie community.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------STARTING SCHOOL If your child was born between
1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013 your child is eligible to
start in Reception in September 2017.
All the information you need to apply for a primary school place
can be accessed from the Local Authority’s website
www.lewisham.gov.uk/primaryadmissions and there is also a link
available on the Kilmorie website.
The deadline for applications is 15th January 2017.
Tours of the school are currently being organised on a Monday at
11am and will resume in the New Year. Please phone the school
office on 0208 291 1250 if you wish to join one of the tours.

resume on Monday 31st October.
The last day of clubs before the Christmas break will be Friday 2nd
December unless you have been informed of an additional date to
make up for a cancelled lesson.
