Director’s News
Wow can you believe that it is December already? The year has flown by so fast. By now
everybody should have received their Christmas/Holiday Booking form and Childcare
Requirements for 2017 form. If you have not returned these days can not be guaranteed.
As the weather is warming up please ensure that at all times your child brings a full water bottle
to kindy and this goes out into the yards with them in the morning. It is very difficult for staff to
leave the yards continuously to fill water bottles. Also some spare clothes as lots of outside
water play has started to happen.
I would also like to thank those parents who have been returning/emailing their "What We Did
On The Weekend" forms. Please see myself if you would like to receive these via email. This
input is what your child's Educator uses to plan for the days activities and make that connection
from home to kindy.
Just a few REMINDERS:
*ALL ACCOUNTS are to be PAID IN FULL prior to 9am Friday mornings. Failure to do this may
result in child/children's days being suspended.
*If you are going on holidays please remember to give 2 WEEKS NOTICE. The Holiday
Notification Folder is located on the bookshelf in the FOYER for you to complete.
*Please ensure that we have your correct details on file. If your phone numbers, address, email
etc have changed please notify us ASAP. This is our only way of contacting you. If we have the
incorrect details this is not possible.
Please feel free at anytime to speak with myself or your child/children's Educators. We value
your input and communication.
Miss Michelle :-)

Hello, to all the Babies parents & caregivers. Firstly we would like to wish Oliver a big ‘Happy 1st
Birthday.’ Our Christmas Concert songs are coming along really well! The children are learning more and
more each week. It would be really great if you could also sing them at home when you have some free
time. We are learning Jingles bells, Twinkle, twinkle Christmas star and if you’re happy and you know it
clap your hands. If you have any questions about the concert or these songs please feel free to ask
myself or Miss Julianne.
The small fridge is working really well for us in the room and I hope it is also easier for you all at drop off
and pick up. With the weather being warmer we ask that you please remember your child’s drink bottle
each day they are at kindy, we do have spare ones if required but it is great to see them with their own 
December is a very busy month and we hope to see you all at the Christmas concert on Thursday the 8th
of December and at our class Christmas party on Wednesday the 14th of December.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask Miss Julianne or Miss Bek. Until next month, Miss Bek
and Miss Julianne.

Hi and welcome to the Toddlers Room. Wow we can’t believe we are in December already! Misaki and I
have loved watching your children grow and we will be very sad when the time comes to say good bye to
them in late January when we have the room changes. We would like to wish a very Happy 2nd Birthday
to Atlas for this month, we hope you enjoy your special day! We have been busy practicing our
Christmas concert songs which is on Thursday 8th December. The children are getting really involved. It
is lovely watching the children’s excitement! Misaki and I would like to wish all our Toddler families a very
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope Santa is kind to your family 
We will also be continuing
to focus on colours, shapes, counting 1-20 and saying our first name. Lots of fun transitions will help us
achieve these goals. Toilet training is always on the agenda so please feel free to ask Misaki or I if you
would like your child to start this or any questions you may have.
Until next month, Miss Carmel and Miss Misaki
JUNIOR KINDY
Hello to all the families in Junior Kindy. I can’t believe I am now writing the December newsletter, this year
has just flown past. We have been very busy in the Junior kindy room. The children have been learning
so much throughout the year and have grown up so much. The children have enjoyed learning their
colours, numbers and shapes throughout the year.
Last month we continued with our colour, shape and number activities. The children have also been
helping each other with different shapes during our shape activity. They enjoy rolling the dice to see what
shape it lands on. This activity has helped the children recognise a lot of the shapes. The children have
also been responsible for their own belongings. They have responded well with using their lunch boxes
and packing their belongings away. The lunch boxes have also encouraged the children to eat their
healthy food and recognise the difference between healthy and not so healthy foods. This year we have
been focusing on healthy foods and learning the different types of fruit and vegetables. The children have
also been doing great at eating their fruit for morning tea and naming different types of fruit. We have also
made friendship fruit salads through put the year which have been great at encouraging the children to
eat fruit and talk to their friends about what kind of fruit they choose and which fruit is their favourite. I
have enjoyed watching and supporting your children throughout the year.Thank you for a great year!Have
a great and safe Christmas! Happy Birthday to Max who will be turning 3 this month!! Please see either of
us if you have any questions or concerns. Miss Tegan, Miss Elise and Miss Jess.

BABIES
Wow! What a busy November we had leading up to Miss Sou's farewell and lots of practicing for our
Christmas concert. We have still been focusing on our behaviors, many emotions have been addressed
this term during mat time sessions, such as bossiness, left out, being mean etc. As the children are
turning 4 years old, it is important that they learn about emotions and what these emotions look and feel
like. As I mentioned above we sadly farewell Miss Sou this month and it has been a honour to work with
Miss Sou this year in the Senior Kindy class room and she will be sadly missed by everyone. We have
put together our Christmas Concert songs so please take the time to sing these and practice with your
child at home. If you can also remember to bring along some spare clothing as we will be having many
spontaneous water play days with the weather certainly warming up. Don't forget a drink bottle also.
Over the Christmas and New Year week we will be combining with Pre School and having lots of fun
planned activities. We would like to wish everyone and Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. I would
also like to thank Miss Carrie for working in Senior Kindy since Miss Sou has left. The children have learnt
a lot from her and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts. Until next year, Miss Casey & Miss Carrie
xx
PRE SCHOOL
Visit us at www.bhchildcare.com.au
Hello to all the Preschool parents, and welcome to the last newsletter for the year! We would firstly like to
thank all the parents that have taken the time to read the newsletters, daily programs, and keep up with
the monthly calendar events this year. A lot of time goes into putting these documents together and it
really means a lot to us. We would also like to thank all the parents that have provided input into our daily
program, whether this be through updates of what you and your child has done on the weekend, or by
offering ideas and suggestions. It has helped make a real difference to our program and the children’s
experiences at kindy.
Last month we focused on assisting the children’s confidence by conducting regular ‘news times’ during
our morning and afternoon group time sessions. We had also focused on the children’s number
recognition, and their ability to write their name clearly. Our Christmas concert rehearsals have been a
highlight this month as well, and we will continue preparing the children for their roles up until the concert
night. Your children are also working on a special Christmas present for their loved ones which will be
sent home sometime soon. We would like to wish Tye (9th) and Harry. R (23rd) a happy birthday this
month.
PRE SCHOOL CONT
The Preschool graduation night was such a rewarding and emotional experience for all. We all were very
proud of their courageous walk down the red carpet and up onto the stage to receive their certificates.
Thank you all for coming and for providing the delicious food. It was certainly a night to remember.
We have thoroughly enjoyed hearing the children’s stories of their visits to “big school” and you can tell
they are really excited to settle into their new environments. Miss Eden and I wish all the children and
parents the best of luck next year. It has been a real privilege to help your children prepare for their next
big milestone and we will miss you all.
Merry Christmas everyone and a happy New Year

SUN SAFETY
Christmas In Surfers Paradise
13th -24th December
During the month of December we will be
focusing on sun safety again as the weather
continues to warm up.
At Aussie Kids we encourage that all children
wear a hat outdoors.
Staff role model this also by wearing a hat at
all times when outside.
Sunscreen is applied to all children prior to
going outside for play and we encourage
parents to apply sunscreen prior to their child
attending kindy.
We also have a sunscreen station located in
the foyer in the office.
Sun safety is discussed with the children at
various times of the day through songs,
stories, role modelling, discussions, pictures
etc.
If at anytime you have any questions or
concerns in regards to this please feel free to
talk to myself or any staff member.
