CLASS UPDATES
Well this week just flew by! Thanksgiving
activities kept us busy all week. The students wrote
and painted wonderful stories like the Native
Americans did on their deer skin (paper bags). Have
your child read his/her story to family on
Thanksgiving! We read Thanksgiving books and
watched videos about the Pilgrims journey and first
Thanksgiving. Ask your child which President
proclaimed Thanksgiving as a national holiday. After
listening to a letter written by a pilgrim on the
Mayflower, each student wrote a diary entry as if
they were on the Mayflower. The students also made
plump turkeys using their handprints. These turned
out very cute! On Wednesday, we had a feast with
the other 3rd grades of corn bread and butter, made
by the students themselves! Half of the class were
Native Americans, and the other half were pilgrims.

Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks. I am
thankful for many things, especially my classroom full
of hardworking, friendly students. Also, for
supportive parents (we couldn’t learn without you!).
