Rabbits join New Cangle
New Cangle School has adopted two
rabbits. They are females and are 1-yearold. The names chosen by the children
are Shadow and Sniffles. They live in
hutches in the Garden Area of the school
grounds. Sniffles is a Lionhead Rabbit.
They are rescue rabbits from Animal
Craziness who came in to visit Red Class.
Many thanks to all who have volunteered
to feed the rabbits at the weekend.

Volunteer Readers
Do you have a free afternoon?
Would you like to listen to children read?
We are looking for volunteers to listen to
children read in the afternoon at school.
If you are able to spare an hour or two or
if you know anyone who would like to
volunteer, we would love to hear from
you.
A DBS Check will need to be done and
some safeguarding training to comply
with current rules.
It is a lovely opportunity to spend time
with the children and they gain a lot from
regular reading.
Our current volunteers enjoy their time in
school and make a real difference to the
children.

Key Stage 1 visit to the Museum of East Anglian Life
On Tuesday 9th February Blue
and White Class and staff
climbed aboard the double
decker bus and headed for
Stowmarket, where they
were visiting the Museum of
East Anglian Life. It was a
little cold but luckily the
weather stayed dry.
Although the museum is not
officially open yet it was
opened specially to allow the
school party to look at the
exhibits and animals there.
Fun was had by all!
Good bye Mrs Jesson

Cerebral Palsy
Awareness Month
March is Cerebral Palsy Awareness
Month
Cerebral palsy is a condition that
affects movement in different parts
of the body it has many types and
degrees of severity.
It's estimated 1 in 400 babies born in
the UK have Cerebral Palsy. It's
believed that Cerebral Palsy is caused
by damage to the brain that occurs
before, during or shortly after birth.
Governor
Book Fair
New Cangle CP School has a vacancy
for a Governor. If you would like to fill
this post please collect a form from
the office
The Book Fair will be held in the
Atrium from the 16th to 21st March.
Lots of books and accessories will be
available.
Book Bags
School no longer stocks Book Bags.
They are available along with all
other uniform from the Tesco
Website.
Lateness

There is no cure for Cerebral Palsy,
treatments include Physio therapy
and occupational therapy.
Reminders
People with Cerebral Palsy often
have mobility aids such as
wheelchairs, trikes, walkers or sticks
and sometimes need help with
communication.
If you see someone with a disability or
a mobility aid, please do not stare,
please don't ever be afraid to ask why
they use their mobility aids, they
would rather speak to a curious
person than be stared at or ignored!
There will be a cake sale in the hall on
Friday to raise funds for ‘Just For
Children’ a charity that supports
children with Cerebral Palsy and who
are currently fundraising to help
Aiden get the Physio he needs, if you
would like to organise or be involved
in any future fundraising please email
[email protected]

Parking - Parents and carers
should not be using the staff
car park to drop off and
collect children after 8:15
and before 3:45pm.

Payments for trips, lunches
etc must be made using the
School Gateway App or
School Gateway online. If
you have any difficulties,
please contact the office.

Dogs are not permitted on
school grounds even if they
are carried.

Please remember to send a
healthy snack for your child
to have at break time. This
will keep them going until
lunch time and ensure they
perform well throughout the
morning. Free fruit is
available for all children in
key Stage 1.
Too many children are
arriving late and although
they are not many minutes
late this still disrupts the
class. Please ensure that
your child arrives to school on
time and they are ready to go
into class at 8.40 am. This
allows time for sorting bags
etc. Registers are taken at
8.50 am, after this time your
child will be marked as late.
Social Media

If you have any issues or
concerns with any aspect of
school life, please bring
them to school. Social
Media should not be used
and we would draw your
attention to the final
paragraph of the
Parent/Carer and Visitor
Code of Conduct.
School Uniform

Please remember that
children should not be
wearing jewellery or nail
varnish to school and long
hair should be tied up.
