General Sessions
Alternate Branching Strategies to Expand Your Reach
While community banks offer a wide range of electronic delivery
channels, branch footprint remains a key component of service
delivery. Trent Fleming will look at smarter ways to branch, including
limiting physical plant investment, and utilizing a wide range of technologies to provide outstanding service across all of your markets.
Becoming a Better Boss...the Carrot or the Stick?
Employees sometimes wish their managers were a little more understanding. In their mind, “understanding” really means “nice.” Being
nice isn’t always the answer in real life. A good manager knows that
a little well-directed pain can be a good thing to increase productivity.
CFPB Agency Update
Jeff Swartz gives a closer look at the Consumer Financial Protection
Bureau’s approach to supervision, regulatory rules and expected
agenda, and a brief update on CFPB resources, i.e., regulatory
implementation and financial education resources.
Envisioning Your Bank’s Future
Sometimes we are so busy with day to day tasks that we don’t take
time to effectively plan for the future. This session explores areas of
opportunity to keep your bank relevant year after year, including
demographic changes, delivery channels, involvement, and management tactics.
To Expect a Lot...Train Well and Coach a Lot
Exceptional employees want to work for an exceptional leader.
Raise the bar, train them well, and coach using a proven method that
promotes self-evaluation, positive reinforcement, and accountability.
FDIC and IT Examinations Update
Kyle Netten from the FDIC discusses the agency’s observations and
approach to cybersecurity and other current matters facing
bankers today.
Federal Reserve Bank Update
Joni Hopkins of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City discusses
the future of the U.S. payments system and the latest developments
for managing risk while improving reporting and delivering value to
customers and corporate treasurers.
Mastering Mortgage Compliance (Parts 1 & 2)
It is almost three times more expensive to originate a mortgage
today than five years ago. Mortgage acronyms are second nature
for industry professionals but what are you supposed to do with
RESPA or TRID or HMDA? And what is on the horizon for anyone
that originates/services a mortgage? Changing the loan application?
Additional required HMDA fields? Where does it end? It is unpredictable, but Melissa Walker, CMC, will show you how to navigate
through it!
Operating an Internet-Only Branch
Join DCI banker Wade Huckabay from All America Bank for a personal,
informative look at how to successfully build and operate a profitable
branch online with no brick or mortar.
Rise of the Underdark 2.0
Join DCI banker Tim Leonard and journey through the villainous
“underdark”... a secret web of black market drugs, sex and stolen
debit card customer information. The underdark is not for the faint
of heart, but reveals a world that all bankers need to know, including
how villains access this secret world.
