2017
STEEPLEVIEW MEN’S LEAGUE
(THURSDAY)
2-man teams playing their own ball and counting the best net score per hole, using 100% of their
handicap. Play will be spread out over 20 weeks beginning Thursday, April 18th and ending Thursday, August 31th.
FORMAT:
HDCPS: Current home-course handicaps will be used.
There are a couple changes to 2017. First, there will be no partial points for subs and instead the
full points will be given to the winners, sub or no sub. Second, the top 3 teams will splits $60 in weekly prizes
instead of just the night’s top score. This will help spread the winnings around the league, but it will also take some
money away from the remaining prize fund to be given in cash to the top 6 point getters. Finally, after week 10, the
top 3 teams will automatically advance to play in the Steepleview Cup in September, and points will reset for the
second batch of ten weeks. The top 3 teams from the 2nd half of the season will automatically advance to play in the
Steepleview Cup. Add your points from the 1st half and the 2nd half to come up with the top 6 League winners to be
paid in CASH. Any ties in the top 3 will result in a simple coin flip tiebreaker. Any repeating teams that make the
top 3 in both halves of the league will be in the Cup of course, and the next team will be taken from the 2nd half
Results (4th, then 5th, etc…)
NEW FOR 2017:
NO SHOWS FOR 2017: Just like last year, if there is a team that does not show up, the opposing team will receive 12 points
and still compete for the weekly prizes. It is not the club’s nor the opponents’ fault that a team does not show, but solely the
fault of the absent team. Luck always has been and will continue to be a part of scheduling and no shows, so good luck!
STROKE-PLAY...The top 3 teams each week (NET SCORE) will split $60 worth of club
house cash in the Golf Shop. Closest to the holes on the par 3’s will be awarded $10 worth of golf shop credit each.
Totals from the year will be paid out at the league finale August 31st. Weekly Payouts: 1st-$30 2nd-$20 3rd - $10
WEEKLY PRIZES:
SEASONAL PRIZES: The sum of points from the 1st half added the points from the 2nd half will determine the top 6
teams at the end of the season will split the remainder of the prize fund ($860), which will be given in CASH. Payouts
based on a full 32 team league.

POINTS: Teams will accumulate points each week by simultaneously competing in a 9-hole match-play and stroke-play
format against the 2-man team that they’re paired with on that particular evening. Teams will receive 4 points for a match-play
win, 4 points for a stroke-play win, and 4 points for the lowest net total strokes within each match. Should any of the
competitions end in a draw, the points are split.
DOUBLE-POINTS: Double- points will be awarded on week 10 and 20. Both regular team members must play in
order to receive double-points, otherwise regular points will be awarded.
SUBSTITUTES: Any current member or APPROVED guest of Steepleview may substitute. If you know of someone
that would like to participate in this year’s league as a substitute, please contact the golf shop and we’ll add them to
the list. When utilizing a sub, please notify the golf shop ASAP as preparation for the league each week takes place
several days in advance.
Yearly entry fee into the Steepleview’s Thursday Men’s League is $40/man. Non-members pay the
appropriate guest rate, play begins at 6pm.
