Thank you for attending this meeting.
Today, we decided that we were going to [action verb], [action verb] and [action verb].
Today, we agreed that to improve our product we need [positive adjective + noun], [positive adjective
+ noun], and [positive adjective + noun].
Connecting ideas and information
In this exercise, you are going to practice mind-mapping.
We recommend you hand draw your mind-map. Be creative, use words and colors, and draw pictures.
Step 1: Draw a circle in the
center of the page and write the
“Central Idea” inside the circle
(1 or 2 words).
Step 2: Draw a branch for every
idea or concept you associate
with that Central Idea. Use one
word or one image to identify
each branch.
In this example, we use “What,
When, Where and Who”.
But on your mind-map, let your
experience and imagination lead
the labeling of each branch.
Step 3: From each branch, draw
sub-branches, one for each new
idea or concept related to that
branch.
Example:
Preparing for a Business trip
(Central Idea) to New York City.
“While in New York City, we
must visit our new clients, meet
the investors, stop by the
Manhattan Office and attend
the conference.”

Step 4: Make connections.
Carefully look at your map - Can
you make connection?
“To Meet the new Sales Target
(Central Idea), I need to increase
my sales force in Brazil by next
spring and in India by next
summer. And it looks like Marie
would be the right person to
lead the effort.”
Now, it is your turn.
Think of a decision you need to make or a situation you need to manage.
It could be professional like increasing sales, addressing a manufacturing problem or preparing a job
interview.
Or it could also be more personal, like planning your next vacation, buying a new car or locating a long
lost friend.
