Specification is subject to change without notice. Precaution: 1. Remove battery from MP3 player when not in use for a long period of time to prevent any damage caused by battery seepage. 2. Make sure the “Hold Key” is in the “Off” position before starting the device. 3. Replace battery in the following circumstances: a) The battery indicator on the LCD display is showing (Empty Battery). b) The device powers off automatically. c) Function buttons are not responding normally. 4. Do not disconnect this device while it is being formatted or during uploading/ downloading files. It may cause damage to the hardware and file corruption. MP3 Player Basic Functions 1. a. b. Turning the power on /off: Press-Hold (2-3 sec.) the PLAY button and release to turn ON the unit. LCD lights up with a screen displaying “MP3 PLAYER”. Press & Hold PLAY button to turn OFF the unit. 2. Playing MP3/WMA music or recorded files: While the device is on, short press the PLAY button to play music. The LCD screen will display information about the music playing. 3. Pause Music/Voice Short press PLAY button to pause the music/voice. To resume playing, short press PLAY button again. 4. Stop Music/ Voice While the music/ voice is playing, Press-Hold PLAY button to stop the music and return to the standby status. 5. Track Selection In either Standby or Play mode, shift the MODE key to the left or right to choose the track. 6. Fast Forward/ Rewind While playing music, shift and hold the MODE key to the right or left to fast-forward or rewind current track. 7. A-B Repeat While playing music, short press down on the MODE key to enter into AÆB mode. The letter “A” in the top, left corner of the LCD will display. This indicates the starting point of the part of the track you want to repeat. To choose the part of the track you would like to select as the ending point of the repeat, short press the MODE key. The letter “B” in the top, left corner of the LCD will display. Short press the MODE key again to cancel the A-B repeat and return to normal playing status. 8. Volume Control While the MP3 player is in play mode, press the volume +/- keys to adjust the volume level. Use menu: While the player is on, short press the MODE key in Standby/ Pause Mode or long press MODE key in Playing Mode to open Menu, the function menu will appear on LCD screen, shift the MODE key forward or backward to select the function as follow: Normal Normal 1. Music: Enter into music files playback mode. Voice: Enter into voice files playback mode. Record: Enter into voice record mode and begin record. Erase File: Erase music file or voice file. Settings: Setting the MP3 player. About: Display firmware version and memory information of the MP3 player. Press MODE key to access main Menu, select “FM Tuner” and short press the MODE key to enter FM mode. Function Indicator Current Frequency Channel b. If it is the first time you enter FM mode, the MP3 player will scan and save channel automatically c. Short press the MODE key to select function as follow: Radio: Listen to the present channel. Short press the FORWARD/ BACKWARD key: Select a preset channel. Scan: Scan channels. Short press the FORWARD/ BACKWARD key: Frequency increase/ decrease 0.1 MHz. keep pressing the button until the desired channel is found. Long press the FORWARD/ BACKWARD key: Frequency increase/ decrease continuously and stop when a channel is found. Press PLAY key: Scan channels from FM 86MHz to 108MHz, and save channels automatically. Store: Save the current frequency as a preset channel. Press the FORWARD/ BACKWARD key to select the desired channel number, Short press the PLAY key to save. A maximum of 30 channel can be set. REC: Recording FM radio broadcasting. Press the PLAY key to enter FM radio record mode and start recording. During record, short press the PLAY key to pause record, short press again to continue. Short press the MODE key to exit record mode and return to FM mode. Exit: Press the PLAY key to exit FM mode. Record Mode a. Press MODE key to open main menu, select “Record” and short press MODE key to enter. The MP3 player will enter Record Mode and start record. b. During recording, short press PLAY key to pause record, to resume, short press again. c. During recording, short press MODE key to stop record and enter voice mode. Erase File a. Press MODE key to open main menu, select “Erase File” and short press MODE key to enter erase file sub-menu. Right or left shift MODE key to select “Delete Music” to erase music file or select “Delete Voice” to erase voice file, short press MODE key to confirm your selection. b. Right or left shift MODE key to select which file you want to delete, short press MODE key, the LCD screen will show: c. d. Short press PLAY key to delete file or short press MODE key to cancel. Short press Volume – key to exit Erase File Mode. Settings: a. EQ Set: b. Press MODE key to enter into menu. Select “Settings” -> “EQ” to enter EQ menu. c. d. Right or left shift MODE key to select which mode you prefer and short press MODE key to confirm. There are 6 modes of EQ settings you can select such as: Normal, Rock, Jazz, Full Bass, Pop, Classical. Play Mode: Select the repeat mode, include 6 modes: a. Normal: Play all music files and stop at the end. b. Repeat One: Play only one single music file repeatedly. c. Repeat All: Play all music files repeatedly. d. Random: Play all music randomly and stop at the end. E. Shuffle All: Play all music randomly and repeatedly. f. Intro: Play the beginning 10 seconds of each music file. • Contrast: Adjust the contrast of the LCD screen. • Back light: Set backlight light time from 0(no backlight) to 60 seconds. • BL Color Set the color of backlight from orange, purple, red, cyan, green, blue, white, auto(backlight color will be changed automatically by press each button). • Power Set: Set the auto power off time. Automatic shut off timer will start count down if no key is pressed in the “Stop” status, the system will be turn off automatically after count down time ends. Auto Off time can be set between 1,2,5,10 minutes. If Disable selected, it means the system will never power off automatically. • Record Set: Source: Set the record source: From built-in microphone or line in. Line in record: In line in record mode, the earphone jack will be used as line in jack. Plug one end of line-in cable to the earphone jack of the MP3 player; plug another end of line-in cable to voice source just like CD walkman, MD, other MP3 player, etc. ENC: Set encode format. There are 3 types: PCM, IMADPCM, MSADPCM. Channel: Only available in line-in record mode. Select the record channel from Stereo and Mono. Sample: Set recording rate. There 6 types: 8000Hz, 11025 Hz, 16000 Hz, 22050 Hz, 32000 Hz and 44100Hz. Right or left shift MODE key the select option and short press MODE key to select which encode format or recording rate you prefer. • Language: This MP3 player can support 3 types of menu languages: 1.English 2.Chinese (GB) 3.Chinese(BG) and support 6 types of ID3 information language: 1.English 2.Chinese (GB) 3.Chinese(BG) 4. Japanese 5. Korean 6. European Linking the MP3 Player to PC: 1. Installing the driver software: Windows 98SE users are required to load in a Driver before the unit can be attached to a computer. Win98 Driver is located on the CD that came with the unit. Insert the CD in the CD-ROM Drive, access the folder for Win98 and run the program Setup.EXE. Follow on screen instructions. Restart your PC after installation is complete. Windows ME/ 2000/ XP do not require loading in any drivers. Plug in the device and Windows automatically will build its own drivers. 2. Connect to PC • Make sure your PC support USB devices. • Connect the MP3 player directly to a USB port or by using a USB extension cable. 3. Sending / Delete files between PC and Player: The MP3 Player connected to a computer will work in the same manner as any computer device (i.e.; floppy drive, CD-ROM, hard drive etc.). Under “My Computer” the computer will assign a new drive letter for the MP3 player. Access the MP3 Player by double clicking on the new drive. Use the same file/folder management techniques you use to manage files and folders on your computer, i.e.; copy/paste/delete/move create folder etc. Example, to copy files from the computer to the MP3 player simply drag & drop or copy and paste the files from the PC to the MP3 drive. 4. Format the Player: Formatting will delete all the files in the PLAYER. MP3 player can be formatted using the PC by selecting the FAT Type Format option from within Windows or DOS option using Mac OS. Cautions: ¾ Don’t pull out the Player while files are downloading or uploading. Data corruption and unit malfunction may result from such an action. ¾ If the Player hangs or for any other erroneous error simply unplug the batter and reinstall it after three seconds to reset the unit. ¾ The MP3 USB Flash Drive only supports FAT16 format. If you format using other formats MP3 may cease to operate properly.
