WORD SEARCH Cinnamon Mustang Chestnut Blaze Mare Trot

Cinnamon, our 7 year old rescue
Mustang cross, has a quirky and
mischievous side. She provides our
more advanced riders a great challenge and learning opportunity.
Several of our young riders have
been helping train and condition
her, enabling her to become a more
dependable member of the lesson
and therapy program. Cinnamon’s
intelligence and curiosity make her
a fun, adventurous horse to be
around!
Once upon a time there
was a quiet, shy horse.
When events and activities
occurred she was often the
last one picked because
she wasn’t as outgoing as
the rest of the ponies in the
pasture. Lots of people,
noise, and activity tended
to make her anxious and nervous.
Then came the day of the costume party! Everyone in the
barn was excited, from students to instructors to the horses! Each pony was anxious to be decorated … and even
more anxious to possibly be announced the winner! The
lovely Snowy was soon transformed into "Ana" (from the
movie Frozen) & beautiful Glisten turned into "Elsa". The
flashy Rose gained more spots and became a Dalmation.
Mysterious Mindy with her dark features became the perfect pirate. Joey, cute as ever, turned into Olaf. And Cinnamon was braided and shined up and adorned as a
cheerleader. Most of the ponies stood still so their "beauty
team" could do the very best job possible, but standing
still was very difficult for Cinnamon. Everyone guessed as
to which pony would win! Finally, the votes were all in
…but it was not the lovely Snowy, the beautiful Glisten,
the flashy Rose, the Mysterious Mindy, or even the cute
Joey that had won though! It was shy Cinnamon declared
the winner of the costume contest! So if you are a pony, or
a girl, or a boy, and maybe just a little shy … and maybe
often the last to be picked … remember Cinnamon ~ the
pony thought to be least popular became the
WINNER! This shy, quiet horse is also kind and generous
and because she loves her friend Snowy and knows she
suffers with pain and stiffness she is going to give her the
gift of the massage!! What a sweet and kind horse Cinnamon is!!

Getting to know you….Erin
Erin has
been riding
at Reins of
Rhythm for
about two and a half years now!! She
loves all the horses, but has a special
place in her heart for Snowy and is quickly
becoming friends with Glisten! Erin turned
12 years old on July 22nd; and attends
Shippensburg Area Middle School. When
asked what she loves, Erin will tell you,
babies, the color orange, Tinkerbell, Curious George and of course horses! Erin
enjoys her lessons with Miss Patience
who always has fun challenges to do
during her lesson. Erin likes finding the
items that are hidden around the arena
as well as blowing bubbles when she
meets her goals. Dressage is one of her
favorite events and she loves the Reins
of Rhythm Horse shows where she can
see what the other riders have learned
and be part of the cheering section!
Miss Patience and Miss Leah as well as
many of her other friends at Reins of
Rhythm have
helped her to gain
much confidence
on the horses.
Going to lessons
is a highlight of
Erin’s week!

The name
'mustang' has
been derived from
the Spanish word
'mustengo', meaning 'ownerless
beast' or 'stray
horse'.
The Mustang is
known for its intelligence and independent spirit.
These highspirited animals
have a mind of
their own, but can
be very obedient
as well.
“Clipity-Clop Clipity-Clop”
By: Abbie Merlo
Do you hear that beautiful sound?
Clipity-Clop, Clipity Clop
I like to see the horses go “round”
Big and beautiful,
Soft and furry.
They smell like hay,
but don’t you worry!
Clipity-clop, Clipity-clop
I do not know how they taste
Ask a fly, no time to waste!
Clipity-clop, Clipity- clop
Thank you Abbie for sharing your poem
with us!
