Library
With the end of the year fast approaching, library patrons are reminded to return all
library items. Our library is no longer checking items out for the school year. All items
must be returned to avoid the STOP LIST. Students are encouraged to stop by the
library if they are unsure of items owed.
GRADE 6
Team 6 website: http://team6site.com/ - check regularly for team updates and
information.
English 6 students will complete our Freak the Mighty unit by creating a choice of three
posters: a timeline, a setting map, or a visual Venn diagram. The Voorheesville public
librarian will be visiting to introduce us to summer reading recommendations. We will
also begin watching The Mighty on Friday. Please have permission slips in
by Wednesday! Finally, we will begin studying for our final exam, which will be on
Friday, June 17. Students will create online Quizlet accounts to study and will also
receive paper copy flashcards.
Math 6 students will be working on our board games.
Social Studies 6 students will complete their revolutionary "doodle" project. Students
will examine 3 revolutions of Big Era 6 - one political, one social, and one economic.
They will discuss the changes brought by these revolutions in an essay - and then
choose symbols from each to create a "doodle" around the word revolution modeled
after google doodles.
Science 6 students will focus on our comic project. Students will outline, and then
create digital comics about the changes that a rock goes through over millions of years.
We will also do activities on the origins of continental drift theory.
FACS 6 students will be working on their sewing projects this week. Any missing work
and corrections need to be submitted no later than Friday, June 10. Final exam review
packets are due Wednesday, June 15.
Art 6 students will complete the Illuminated Letter project and the Pop Art clay tile
project this week. Students will also begin learning about one-point perspective
drawing.
GRADE 7

regularly for team updates and information.
English 7 students will continue to read Adam Canfield of the Slash, and students will
start working on their own news story. They will choose a news story topic, brainstorm
questions they need answered and start finding answers by visiting places in the school
or town and interviewing reliable sources. The note sheet is due Tuesday, June 14.
There is also a study guide for the English final exam that is due June 14. Students will
be able to check the answer key Tuesday so they have the correct answers to study
from for the final exam on June 17.
Math 7 students will work on angle relationships and pairs to find the value of missing
angle measurements. We will have our last quiz on Friday, 6/10 and then will review
for the final exam which is on June 20.
Math 7X students will finish up our review of linear systems and will work on graphing
systems. We will also solve systems with substitution and elimination methods. Our
final exam will be on June 20.
Social Studies 7 students will wrap up their unit on the Civil War as we evaluate some
key battles. We will end with a number of questions the nation will face as we usher in
the period of Reconstruction, a conversation that will be continued in 8th grade. There
is a vocabulary quiz for the chapter scheduled on Monday, June 6 and a unit test on
chapters 14 & 15 on Thursday, June 9. Students are encouraged to begin reviewing for
their final exams scheduled for the week of June 20th by working on their final exam
review guide. The Final Exam Review Guide is due on Thursday, June 16. Review
guides from previous unit tests can serve as an excellent resource to complete the final
exam review guide and to study from. Students also have weekly Castle Learning
questions to complete online, including some bonus questions for extra credit. Class

GRADE 8
English 8 students will be wrapping up our To Kill a Mockingbird unit. We'll finish the
reading on Wednesday, June 8. There will be a two part unit test, starting on
Thursday, June 9 and continuing on Friday, June 10. Students should have already
started reviewing for the unit test last week, using their chapter study guides and
summaries. Quiz corrections, for the Part I Reading Quiz, are due on Tuesday, June 7.
Since the only remaining grades for the quarter are the TKAM unit test and final exam,
Mrs. Kramer strongly advises students to complete the quiz corrections if they did
poorly on the quiz. The English 8 final exam will be given on Tuesday, June 14. The
students received a purple packet final exam study guide on Friday, June 3, with all the
information they need to know for the final. There will be a review/study day, in class,
