MUSIC NEWS FROM MR MURPHY
UKULELE - I plan to start a new ukulele
group for children in Year 2. This
is to begin after Christmas.
Some children already expressed
an interest last summer—if there
are any other children in Year 2
who would be interested in learning to play the ukulele please let me know.
CHICHESTER CATHEDRAL -Children in
Years 1 and 2 recently represented the
school at a service for schools at Chichester
Cathedral. They coped well with what, for
many, was something of an overwhelming occasion. We were very pleased with the children who sang beautifully and were a credit
to the school.
A big thank you to all the parents who accompanied the children. The day would not have
been possible without your valued support.
Sycamore Layton for looking after his friends.
Marie for working really hard and feeling
more confident to have a go.
Darcie for helping her class mates with
their work.
Cody for using his phonic skills in his
speech bubble writing.
Ben for being helpful at the end of the day
Chelsea for always concentrating and
working hard.
Ash Summer for taking her time in maths to
work out the answer.
Alfie for writing two stories!
Daniel for working hard in maths with Mr.
Murphy.
Jessica for working hard and sharing good
ideas.
Well done to all of you!

PARENT EVENINGS—Yr 1/2
Don’t forget the Parent Consultation evenings
coming up next week—if you still haven't reserved your slot, there is just enough time to
book with your child’s class teacher on Monday!
A quick reminder to all Year 2 Parents—don’t
forget that you need to apply for a place at
your child’s next school (you do not automatically have a place at Central). This should be
done online, or if you do not have a computer
at home you can use the computers at your
local library for free. The application deadline date is Tuesday 15th January 2013.
WELLIES AND COATS!
Please ensure your child has a
pair of wellington boots to keep
in school at all times. If the children have their wellies, they will be allowed
to play on the grassed areas of the playground, otherwise, they must remain
on the paved area on wet
days. Please also be aware
that we encourage the
children to play and work
outside on a regular basis—they therefore
need warm coats and other relevant cold
weather clothing in school everyday.
