AuditionsandCasting:
AuditionswillbeheldTuesdayandThursday,January24thand26th
AuditionsareopentoallstudentsinGrades5-8.Whileauditionsareforcastingpurposesonly,itisimportant
thatstudentstaketheprocessseriously.Wearelookingforstudentswhoareenthusiasticaboutthe
productionanddemonstrateawillingnesstoworkhard.
NewforTheLionKingJr:WeareinvitingstudentsinGrades1-4whowouldliketoauditionfortherolesof
YoungSimbaandYoungNala.Ifyoungerstudentsarechosenfortheseroles,theywillbeconsideredpartof
theMiddleSchoolCastandmustattendallMiddleSchoolrehearsals.Thosenotselectedforthesetworoles
willbeplacedintherandomdrawingfortheElementaryCast.
Theseareworkingauditionsandconsistofsinging,dancing,andtheatregames.Thereisnothingstudents
needtoprepareaheadoftime—wewillteachthestudentseverythingtheyneedtoknowduringauditions.
Castingisacomplicatedprocesswithperformanceandbehaviorduringtheauditionprocesscarryingthemost
weight,butmanyotherfactorscontributetocastingawell-balancedshow.

Absenceortardinesscannotbepermittedduringtherehearsalperiod.Castmembersinvolvedinother
activitieswillneedtocarefullyweightheirdecisiontoparticipateinthisproduction.Thoseauditioningcan
submitscheduleconflictsinwritingontheregistrationform;additionalconflictscannotbeaddedoncethe
showiscast.Takeyourtimefillingouttheauditionformcompletely.

• CanImakethetimecommitmenttotheproduction?Fromrehearsalstoperformancestostrike,cast
