The mission of Mothers’ Union is to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by
the transformation of communities worldwide through the nurture of the family
in its many forms. In order to carry out this mission, our Objectives are:–
 to promote and support married life
The Mothers’ Union vision is
‘of a world where God's love is shown through
loving, respectful, and flourishing relationships’
Nearly 140 years after Mary Sumner founded this movement,
Mothers’ Union has more than 4 million members in 83 countries.
Men, women, single and married are now joining this work
‘transforming lives and communities’
Both locally and globally, Mothers’ Union works to support family life

Away From It All [A.F.I.A.] Holidays for Families
Bye Buy Childhood Campaign
Cross in your Pocket via local Prison initiatives
Domestic Abuse leaflets
Equipping families through ‘Passionate about Parenting’ Courses
Family Life Programmes
 to encourage parents in their role to develop the faith of their children
 to maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer,
worship and service
 to promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life
and the protection of children
 to help those whose family life has met with adversity
Ways of being a member:

by belonging to a group that is attached to a parish church

by becoming a diocesan member
and receiving information by post

by joining the Indoor Members
intended for and relevant to the housebound
