SCANDINAVIA COLLECTORS CLUB LIBRARY (Denver, CO.): It’s mostly about the collection of
several thousand books, periodicals, audio-visual, and digital materials at the active and growing
Scandinavian Collectors Club Library in Denver. But some interesting and attractive postal-related
memorabilia has accumulated at the library over the years as well. Roger Cichorz, a member of the volunteer
SCC Library Committee, displays some of these Scandinavia collectibles, including a flag flown by mail
boats servicing the Jutland peninsula in Denmark, Iceland’s national flag, and a mail bag from Norway.
Cichorz is modeling a Danish mail carrier’s wool coat, one of two donated over the years. Smaller items in the
photo include a Danish mail slot cover for depositing periodicals and an honorary membership plaque given
to the late Roger Schnell who was a president of SCC (among other honors) and after whom the SCC Library
