SUNSET RANCH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - SUGGESTED SUPPLIES FOR STUDENTS – 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR Parents frequently ask our teachers what they can do to assist the school. There are many ways, from volunteering your time to providing extra supplies. The school provides all the supplies that are necessary for students, but any additional supplies would always be welcomed and appreciated. This is definitely not a requirement, but rather a suggestion for those of you who have asked us what you can do to help. Below is a suggested list of supplies by grade level. (A backpack or book bag is highly recommended for all students.) Five labeled: 1. Math (usually need at least two sometimes three) 2. Social Studies 3. Science 4. Writing 5. Reading 8 X 10 flash cards with lines 2 - 3 boxes of Kleenex for whole class use Pencils, tons of them! (mechanical preferred) Erasers: Hand held or pencil tops College ruled lined paper: 2-3 packages (500-1000) Binder: 1½-2 inch three ring with dividers (label them math, reading, writing, social studies, science, notes home) Pens: 1 red, 1 black, 1 blue Scissors Glue Stick White Board Marker Colored Pencils Pencil Sharpener (with cover to collect pencil shavings please) Highlighter Flash Drive: This is an important piece of equipment, as students will use them to store and transport their computer files. They can be purchased at any electronics or office supply store for as little as $10. Any storage size will work. th 6 Grade A paperback copy of Tuck Everlasting (for Smith) At least 50 pencils (no mechanical pencils please) 20 dry erase markers and an old sock to use as an eraser 2 packages of blue/black/red pens (any of these colors is fine) Colored pencils 1 black Sharpie marker 1 pair of scissors Ruler with inches and centimeters Protractor Markers Small highlighters – yellow, pink, green (must be those colors for writing work) 2 glue sticks 5 packages of college ruled binder paper 4 reams of white copy paper 1 package of graph paper 1-2 boxes of tissues 1 container of disinfecting wipes 1 Mr. Clean Magic Eraser 1 pencil box (5x8in. and no larger because there isn’t room in their desk) A zipper pencil pouch for their binder A 2 inch binder (not larger because it won’t fit where needed) 8 tabbed dividers for the binder (please come with them marked in the following way, o Math o Writing o Reading o DLI o Spelling o Social studies o Science o other Thank you for getting off to a great start with the supplies essential to school.
