Oconomowoc High School Production of “Singing in the Rain”
Wins 16 Tommy Awards, Including Outstanding Musical
OCONOMOWOC, WI – May 11, 2015. For the fifth time in six years, Oconomowoc High School (OHS) earned a
Tommy Award for Outstanding Musical in the state of Wisconsin. This year’s production of “Singing in the Rain,”
featuring actual rain falling on the stage, won a total of 16 TOMMY awards. The entire cast will be performing at
the TOMMY Awards at Overture Hall in Madison on Sunday, June 7.
“I believe that our achievements and the hard work of our students, staff, parents and volunteers assure that
everyone involved in our productions creates a positive learning environment to take risks in,” said OHS Theater
Director Tom Klubertanz. “We have a top-notch, creatively strong theatrical experience that is second-to-none in
the state.”

In addition, the three Outstanding Lead Performers from Singing in the Rain will be invited to audition to
represent the Tommy Awards at the National High School Musical Theater awards in New York City. The auditions
for those awards will be held on Saturday, May 30 in Madison. One male performer and one female performer
will be invited to represent the TOMMY Awards and will win an all-expenses paid trip to New York to perform at
Nationals in a Broadway theatre. Good luck to Casey, Nikki, and Jacob at these auditions.
Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) will record the 2015 Tommy Awards Ceremony as part of the Young Performers
Initiative project. The resulting television program will feature excerpts from the June 7 ceremony and will be
broadcast in the fall of 2015. Watch for more announcements in the coming months.
