What is Stress?
 Stress is a normal physical response to events that
make you feel threatened or upsets your balance in
some way. If you perceive stress, real or imagined,
your body will go into a “fight-or-flight” reaction.
 Stress can motivate you to do your best and perform
well under pressure, but if it isn’t managed, you will
Fight, Flight, or Freeze
 The body doesn’t distinguish between physical and
psychological threats.

of stress:

Memory problems
Lack of concentration
Poor judgment
Focusing on the negative
Having anxious or racing thoughts
Moodiness






Agitation, inability to relax
Feeling overwhelmed

 Aggravate skin condition

WORD FOR HALF CRAZY) PERSON
SO WHAT CAN WE DO TO FIX
IT?????
Realize you will never stop stress,
but you can learn to manage it
 You can control the way you respond
 You can TAKE CHARGE of your thoughts,
emotions, schedule, environment, and the way
you deal with problems.
 CHANGE THE STRESSFUL SITUATION IF YOU CAN,
AND IF YOU CAN’T…… CHANGE YOUR REACTION

Check your thinking
Take responsibility for yourself
 Own your weaknesses. Allow yourself to be human and
imperfect
 Say no if needed ..don’t over commit yourself.
 Give up guilt
 Exercise, but make it fun if you can
 Eat properly—avoid overuse of sugar and/or caffeine
 Allow yourself to take care of you! If you’re not happy,
odds are your family won’t be happy
 Set priorities
Avoid pitfalls

Don’t mess with the snake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t overload yourself
Try not to get too hungry, sleepy, etc
Play to your strengths
Accept what you can’t change, don’t try to control
the uncontrollable
 Avoid negative people, especially at work
Learn better communication skills
 No one can give you what you need if you don’t tell
them just what that is!
 No one can ask forgiveness of you if they don’t know
what they did!
 There can not be a solution without an identifiable
problem
 MOST PEOPLE REALLY DON’T KNOW, WHAT YOU
THINK THEY SHOULD KNOW, NOR DO THEY FEEL THE
WAY YOU ASSUME THEY FEEL
