About the Symposium
This unique course is designed for the practicing urologist,
gynecologist,and colorectal surgeon interested in updating
his/her knowledge in the diagnosis, evaluation, and
management of female pelvic floor disorders. It is a multidisciplinary program presented by experienced faculty in
the fields of female urology, urogynecology and colorectal
surgery.
This year’s symposium will focus on new developments
in pelvic reconstructive surgery, including debates and
controversial issues. There will be ample time for
discussion and interaction between the participants and
nationally recognized faculty.
As a result of attending this program, the participant will
be able to:
• Work with other pelvic floor specialists in treating
pelvic floor dysfunction upon understanding
concept of the pelvic floor as a functional unit
• Increase the scope of diagnostic testing after
reviewing the evaluation modalities for various
symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction and QoL
tools
• Decrease the rate of graft erosions/infections by
understanding the proper usage and indications for
graft usage tailored to each patient
• Expand surgical modalities for incontinence and
prolapse based on an improved understanding of
surgical procedures proven to be beneficial in treating
pelvic floor problems
