THE QUARSHIE NEWS UPDATE MAY - JULY 2010
Dear ones in Christ. Our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ said' "I must work the work of him
who sent me, while it is day; the night cometh, when no man can work" Jn.9:4
Mission Work in Northern Ghana:
Our Visit to Northern Ghana in May revealed to us the people in the two deprived villages really
needed our help:
Ada Kopey Island
The Ada Kopey Island residents have put up the clinic building, they are now waiting for roofing
materials, and the training of the young ladies who want to serve in the clinic. Pastor Sampson
just informed me that the roofing will cost $1000.
We will also need items like: general pain killers, Tum tablets, antibiotics, general items for
clinics, solar panel, Inverter , etc.
The Village of Jim B. Water Project:
The goal for (Gbimbee) Jim B is to provide water for them before the end of 2010, at the cost of
$30,000 US Dollars.
We need:
(1) water pump
(2) Two Storage or Holding Tanks of at least 20000 gallons
(3) Pvc pipes,
(4) A generator.
The Lord revealed to us during a morning devotion time in June how to raise the funds for this
project. The Devotional in "Our Daily Bread " was about a young man by the name of Mike
who needed money to finance his education in the University of Illinois in 1987. He convinced a
Columnist at the Chicago Tribune to ask his readers to "send a penny For Mike." Just a penny; A
penny does not mean anything to anyone. If you look around the room right now, there will be
penny under the couch cushion, under chairs etc..." In less than a Month the fund was up to 2.3
Million Cents, Donation came from all over the US, Canada, Mexico.... Mike eventually ended
up with $28,000. The common Cent or penny helped Mike to finance his education. We believe
if the Lord helped Mike finance his education with PENNIES he can help JIM B get WATER
with PENNIES.
We started the "WATER FOR JIM B" project in June and we want all our supporters to send
Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters and Dollars etc, to give Water which is life for the Village of
Jim B in Northern Ghana, where women have to walk 5 Miles to get water from the Volta Lake
and walk 5 Miles back home making 10 Miles a Day of walking.. $30,000 is 3 million pennies.

We want to draw water from the Lake where the women get the water into a holding tank and the
use gravity to send it to Jim B. Will you please join us in this very important project. We praise
the Lord for those of you who have given while we were visiting your Church with your coins or
bills. We still have a long way to go. We have collected the equivalent of about 1/2 million
pennies so far. If you would like to send your change or a larger gift $500, $1000 etc that will
also help make our work easier, everything helps. By giving “Jim B” the natural water we can
then present the whole village of 500 souls with the “Water Of Life”. Jn.4:10-14.
School Complex:
The school year has just ended for 2010. We are now planning for the 2010/2011 Year. We
ended the year with 200 children in our school. We know the Lord is going to do greater things
in the school. We need desks, note books, pens, pencils, toys, school bags etc. We also have a
great need of funds for our school students food. We use at least 100 Lbs of rice weekly which
cost us $75 just for rice. We need sponsors for the Orphans in our school, monthly feeding fee
per needy child is $30. Short term school teachers are also needed. We also need sponsors for the
pastoral students who are native pastors in training. For $50 per month you can help train one
native pastor in the pastoral training classes.
Church Planting:
Our Goal by 2011 is 20 Churches in Northern Ghana. That means support for the Village pastors.
$50 to $75 per pastor will take care of them. We also need to roof some of the village church
buildings.
