WE ACHIEVE TOGETHER
Tirath “Sunny” Sehmi, Patrick Macharia and Mohamed Rameez
set off for a six week training in March this year. Together with a Michelin
team of 8 from South Africa they learnt about the Michelin tyre touching
on all the technical aspects as well as sales techniques.
Patrick said, “The training was intensive and we did both theory and
practical sessions. We had evaluations at the end of each topic about after
every 2 days! But it was a great experience and with dedicated Trainers
this was possible”.

The training topics included: in-depth knowledge about a tyre, inspecting
a tyre for damage, tyre repair, puncture repairs, wheel balancing, mounting
and demounting tyres, size conversions etc. The practical studies included
visiting customers and dealers at their premises.
The tyre segments that they covered in the training were Passenger, Light
truck, Truck & Bus and Earth mover tyres. Passenger tyre applications
for various vehicles, cost per kilometer calculations for truck & bus tyres,
speed & load index, radial tyres versus crossply tyres were some of the
other topics that they covered.
L
earning is an essential part of our lives. Through life’s experiences
and education we gain knowledge and skills to further ourselves. I
dedicate this newsletter to Learning. We never stop learning, even
as we leave formal school, start working and grow older.
Kingsway Tyres believes in nurturing its employees to learning new things,
refreshing the known and strengthening our skills as individuals. The best
asset the company can have is its human resource. Training them means
believing in them, and together, be able to excel. We constantly strive to
improve our services so that our customer experience satisfaction and awe
of the service we give to them. The customers who we serve and how we
leave them feeling becomes who we stand for.
This year we created a theme, “We Achieve Together” and we are riding
on it. We are definitely improving and gaining what we set out to do in all
aspects of our work and lives. To get a glimpse of this, read the articles that
follow. Catch up on all the training the Kingsway staff have been up to and
the great honour that our Managing Director received. Our dealers were
also not left behind when they were invited to meet, network and expand
their knowledge with the Apollo tyres International leaders and team.
In this breath let us carry on our efforts towards prosperity in every goal
we set ourselves to do as we enter into the 4th quarter of this year.
Happy Reading!

ichelin tyres - the French based company being No. 1 in
Quality, Safety, Mileage and Fuel saving standing true for
over 120 years of its existence. And why? This is because
they believe in and practice continuous research, quality
checks and most importantly, training their stakeholders.
One such training happened here in Nairobi as well. The entire Kingsway
sales & support team from across the country converged at Nairobi Safari
Club for a Michelin training day. The team was split into two guided by
trainers Salome Gitoho and Robert Foulser.
Focusing on the benefits of the tyre and the soft skills required to promote
this tyre, the trainers from Velocity Project Management took the
participants through rigorous product training.
