Background: Jacagua is a small community outside
Dominican’s 2nd largest city, Santiago. In 2008 Pastor
Daniel Sala and his wife Maria were called by God to
come take over a small church that was started by a
missionary. They had 6 members in the Church called
“Fuente de Agua Vida” or “Fountain of Living Water”.
They wanted to start working in their community but
struggled for 4 years, until LoveServes began working
with Pastor Daniel and his leaders, teaching them how to
apply Ephesians 4:12 “equipping God’s people for
ministry…” The few members began using what they
knew how to do and began to serve those around them
who were suffering. They formed a ministry “Love and
Mercy”, and everybody got involved Repairing homes,
cleaning up the community, medical clinics, children’s
camp, and providing food for the hungry. Now the
church has 60 members a strong leadership and has
become a church that the community can count on.
The Vision: To see a whole generation transformed.
Working hard with children and teens the goal is to
provide a space to minister to the needs of these
families. Through Awana club, youth and couples
activities, the community sees his church cares. They
outgrew their current shack church. Pastor Daniel called
the leaders of the community and cast the vision. He said
we’re going to build and God will provide, here is all I
have...then he put forward $1200 pesos which is about
$25 USD. They agreed and God has provided enough
that they already have the walls and roof.
The Need: Complete the church and outreach center
Where YOU come in: LoveServes is partnering with this
church to complete the church/community center. This
flourishing church has many ministries that you will have
a part in: Children’s outreach, Women’s ministry crafts;
Home visitation and others. Don’t worry if construction is
not your forte!
FAMILY FRIENDLY: Our trips are family friendly, with
plenty of things kids can be a part of. Parents and their
kids are encouraged to work, serve, play and pray
together on this extraordinary family trip! So get your
