We have enjoyed some local fish fries in March and shopped at Walmart, the Dollar Store, and Wegmans. We enjoyed a great lunch out and shopping at Peebles. We also have been busy baking. Cooking is a fun activity, that involves many of our residents. We made Oliebollen in April, which is a Dutch fried treat. Many ladies here commented on the Oliebollen they had, or made in the past. MAY NEWSLETTER In addition to all of that, we also enjoyed Garden Group, birdwatching, exercise, zumba, bingo, yahtzee, walking group, book club and much more. April has been a busy month, and we are happy to see spring arrive, -Gigi- LOOKING AHEAD TO MAY APRIL RECAP Spring is slowly making its way back. We will take anything we can get. Many of our residents are taking advantage of the warmer weather, and are venturing out for walks, or simply sitting outside. We have even gotten some planting done in our garden. We had good luck with peas last year, so we doubled our effort this year. Touch of Joy, Carol Gent and John, Ralph Arnold, and Larry Bitterman all entertained us in April. The children from Lincoln School brought their special talents to the Terrace. Our residents enjoy this visit very much. The children share so much with them. It is a visit we really look forward to. We celebrated Easter by dying eggs, hunting for eggs, and of course eating chocolate. Joel prepared a beautiful Easter meal for our residents. On Wednesdays we set up the commissary cart. It has been very successful. Residents are able to purchase snacks, cards, toiletries, and other personal items. The residents find it to be a convenient amenity here at the Terrace. May is a beautiful month. One of my favorites. We will be getting the garden ready for planting. Please take the opportunity to visit our gardens, and the butterfly garden on the patio. There is so much to see. On May 5th, we will be celebrating Cinco-De Mayo. We will be having a Mexican Theme Party in the living room with music, food, and sangrias. Come and join us. Our Mother’s Day Tea will be on Friday, May 8th from 6pm – 8pm. Please come, sit back, and relax with your mother and enjoy some light refreshments and music. We will have a photo booth available with a professional photographer to take family photos. We will be taking scenic rides in May, and travel up by the lake in search of apple blossoms. Nick Humphries, A Touch of Joy, Joe Miltsch, and Carolyn Adriaanson will be here to entertain us in May. On Memorial Day Richard Chaffee will be here to sing folk and American Songs. Our friends from Lincoln School will be here on May 19th. They are such a joy! We will also be out and about shopping at Walmart, Peebles, Wegmans, The Dollar Store, and local garden Centers. We will be busy during May with Bingo, games and puzzles, baking groups, horseshoes, bible study, sing-alongs book club, and lots more. I hope you enjoy the beauty of May.
