Liquid latex (available at craft stores, art supply stores, or Atlas Chemical in S.D.) Dixie cup Craft stick Dilute HCl or vinegar Tempera paint (optional) Pipette or straw for transferring vinegar Sandwich Baggies for squeezing out excess liquid Directions The latex works best if it is diluted with 40% water. For a large group, like 150 students, I start by mixing 600 ml of latex to 400 ml of water. 1.

Pass out 40/60% diluted latex. About 15 ml is good in a Dixie cup Add optional tempera paint Stir Add squirt of acid, HCl or vinegar Add drops of acid as needed and stir and shape into a ball with the sides of the cup Place ball into plastic bag and squeeze excess water out Now bounce and throw your ball with glee 44
