Here is your opportunity to play a lead role The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is a client-focused organization that delivers integrated natural resource services to British Columbians. The Ministry is currently searching for individuals with senior managerial experience to lead the Northeast Region Natural Resource District team. The Manager provides leadership, direction and expert advice on the delivery of exceptional service in integrating and coordinating natural resource services within the District, one of 23 districts in the ministry. As part of this Region’s Senior Management Team, the Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the District including: operational program delivery, financial management, human resource management, business planning, change management, project management, statutory and delegated decision-making, issue resolution, inter and intra-agency coordination, stakeholder and First Nation relations and client service. We are looking for someone who has excellent skills in leadership, organizational management, relationship building and achieving results. The successful candidate will be someone who has a strong strategic orientation and commitment to outcomes, has a track record in leading change, constantly seeks improvements to business processes, builds durable relationships with stakeholders and First Nations, relates well to people and fosters long-term learning and development of staff. Qualifications for this role include: University degree in a field related to Natural Resource Management, Business/Public Administration. Preference may be given to applicants with natural resource education. A minimum of 4 years of related experience in the following: natural resource experience including some program management; and experience in a management capacity within the public sector or industry including business and organizational planning accountabilities. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered (e.g. Related Master’s degree plus 3 years related experience; or Diploma in a natural resource field supplemented by 7 or more years of progressive and considerable senior level experience). Experience managing the implementation of agreements, solutions, and partnerships with multiple parties and First Nations. Experience leading, coaching and managing multi-disciplinary management, professional and technical staff. Preference may be given to applicants with experience within a unionized work environment.
