This Invitation for Prequalification follows the Procurement Plan for this project that
appeared on the Asian Development Bank (ADB) website on 14 February 2017. This contract
will be jointly financed by ADB and the Government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The
eligibility rules and procedures of ADB will govern the prequalification and the bidding process.

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received financing from ADB toward the cost of
Federally Administered Tribal Areas Water Resources Development Project (FWRDP).

The Project Management Unit (PMU), FWRDP (the “Employer”) intends to prequalify
firms for the following contract(s) under this project: “Construction of new irrigation
infrastructure in Bajaur, Khyber and Mohmand Agency, including small dams with a
maximum height of 15 meters, diversion weirs, with main and secondary irrigation
channels, improved on-farm management through construction of lined (concrete)
watercourses, terracing and land leveling in the command area, and watershed
management works.” The sub-projects, packages, scope and cost will be finalized after detail
design is complete as indicated in Section 6: Scope of Contract of the Prequalification
Document.

It is expected that the Invitation for Bids will be made in May 2017. The results of
prequalification shall be used for bidding within 6 months after approval or within 1 year from the
deadline for submission of applications.

To purchase the Prequalification Document in English, eligible Applicants should:


Contact the address above, requesting the Prequalification Document for 1- PQ-PMUFWRDP Procurement of FWRDP Works and:
Pay a non-refundable fee of PKR 10,000/- through pay order or bank draft drawn on a
scheduled bank of Pakistan in favor of Project Director, FWRDP.
The document will be sent by courier. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

The Employer reserves the right to accept or reject late Applications.
8.
The Employer will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Applicants in
connection with the preparation or delivery of their Applications.

The Employer will arrange a pre-application submission conference for the interested
applicants on 21 March 2017 after publication of this invitation.
