Criteria:
Applicant must be currently residing in Zink or Allen Hall, and is returning to a Capstone community* next fall (or
is graduating).
Instructions:
1. Application must include three (3) typewritten letters of nomination (one must be from a Residential Life staff member,
and one must be from a fellow resident).
2. A complete typewritten resume must accompany the application.
3. Please attached a separate sheet to this application to provide the requested information below. All responses must be
typed and should be 50-100 words each, unless otherwise indicated.

Choose one of the following and write a 250 word essay:
1. Define community and how you are involved in yours.
2. Define leadership and how do you personally demonstrate it.
3. What sets you apart from the other applicants?

Please list any honors or notable contributions to the community you have made over the last twelve months,
and briefly tell which is most meaningful to you and why (2-3 sentences).

If you would like the committee to consider financial need, please provide a list of educational expenses and
financial aid.
4.
Please list any additional factors that you would like the scholarship committee to consider as they review your
application.
5.
Please list any previous disciplinary involvement.
Please return to the Housing and Residential Life Office, Iba Hall, no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017. No late applications will be
accepted. Please PAPER CLIP your application and supporting documents together. No folders, large envelopes, or other binders will be
accepted. However, recommendation letters can be in a sealed #10 envelope. Incomplete applications as well as improperly completed
applications will be disqualified. Scholarships will be announced by July 1, 2017. All awards will be distributed to the winner’s bursar
account AFTER August 15, 2017.
