The transformation or transfiguration of Jesus that the disciples
experienced was not simply something they were to see and experience as happening to him alone. It was also an invitation for
them to undergo a transformation and transfiguration of their
own. Paul says in today’s reading, “For us, our homeland is in
heaven,” that is, the goal and destination of our life is to be one
with God. There is no other goal. “And from heaven [i.e. from
God] comes the Saviour we are waiting for, the Lord Jesus
Christ, and he will transfigure these wretched bodies of ours into
copies of his glorious body. He will do that by the same power
with which he can subdue the whole universe.” How is that transformation or transfiguration to take place? By listening to Jesus,
listening to all that he invites us to be and to do, however much it
may seem to go against the conventions we were brought up on.
It means especially listening to those words which caused such
difficulty for Peter and his companions and integrating them into
my own vision of life. It means having a total trust in walking his
Way, a total trust that only his Way brings me into full union
with God, the source of all truth, love, happiness and peace.( from

SAINT OF THE WEEK St Polycarp (February
24) One day, during a bloody martyrdom when
Christians were attacked by wild animals in the
arena, the crowd became so mad that they demanded more blood by crying, "Down with the atheists;
let Polycarp be found." (They considered Christians
"atheists" because they didn't believe in their pantheon of gods.)
Since Polycarp was not only known as a leader but as someone
holy "even before his grey hair appeared," this was a horrible
demand. Polycarp was calm but others persuaded him to leave
the city and hide at a nearby farm. He spent his time in prayer for
people he knew and for the Church. During his prayer he saw a
vision of his pillow turned to fire and announced to his friends
that the dream meant he would be burned alive. This eventually
came to pass, with the-then 86-year-old being taken into custody
by authorities, under the directions of the local pro-consul. When
the fire was lit under him, eyewitnesses reported they saw a miracle. The fire burst up in an arch around Polycarp, the flames surrounding him like sails, and instead of being burned he seemed to
glow like bread baking, or gold being melted in a furnace. When
the captors saw he wasn't being burned, they stabbed him. The
blood that flowed put the fire out. The proconsul wouldn't let the
Christians have the body because he was afraid they would worship Polycarp. The witnesses reported this with scorn for the lack
of understanding of Christian faith: "They did not know that we
can never abandon the innocent Christ who suffered on behalf of
sinners for the salvation of those in this world." After the body
was burned, they stole the bones in order to celebrate the memory
of his martyrdom and prepare others for persecution. .(from cathnews.com/bulletin-notes).

Me da
parece sencillo. Todo lo veo claro. Su amor es una fuerza arrolladora, imparable.Me encanta saberlo cerca.
mueve a hacerlo.
Me encanta venir. Aquí puedo pensar, reflexionar y escribir con
absoluta tranquilidad. A veces me coloco unos audífonos y escucho música mientras observo la naturaleza a mi alrededor.
Disfruto mucho estos momentos con Dios. Lo contemplo en su
creación. Y le digo que “lo amo”. ¿Y su plan en mi vida? Hace
mucho dejé de preocuparme por ello. Ya no lo cuestiono, ni me
enfado, ni lo pregunto por qué. Sencillamente confío. Procuro
No tengas miedo”.Él ve
tu dolor y quiere consolarte, mostrarte un mejor camino. Desea
