E Y E O N AR B ON N E REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT Go Beyond Your Comfort Zone B Kara Mosburger Arbonne Independent Consultant, Regional Vice President Profession: Finance, Accounting aden, Ontario’s Kara Mosburger was living on life’s hamster wheel. She worked full- time hours as an accounting manager, ran a contracting business with her husband (who had two jobs of his own) — all while raising their two wonderful children. After Arbonne transformed her skin, Kara learned about the business. Just months later, she was on her way to financial freedom. Never in a million years did I think I’d do anything other than accounting. That’s what I went to school for, and that’s how I made my living. Before my crazy journey with Arbonne, I was an accounting manager working every spare moment I had. I managed businesses for a naturopathic doctor, for both Canadian and US businesses. My husband, Gary, was a full-time firefighter and also captain of a volunteer department. We were raising beautiful kids: our eight-year-old daughter Paige, and our five-year-old son Kael. On top of all that, my husband and I owned a contracting business. I was a poster child for busyness! In the beginning, I didn’t even know there was a huge business opportunity attached to Arbonne. My cousins introduced me to the products, and I fell in love with them. The appearance of my skin changed within 24 hours, and after four days my husband noticed! My friends and family started commenting on my skin. I looked into Arbonne’s philosophy and decided to take on the business. I thought, if I can get out twice a month and sell Arbonne’s premium-quality products, I could earn an income. The people in my life were very open to the products, and in three months I was an Area Manager. My family on my first AIT trip to Punta Cana 2012. Kara with her cousins Nicole and Danielle Geerlinks. Then I attended an Area Manager’s Retreat and met my upline, ENVP Tabatha DeBruyn. I saw what this business really was. I could make a huge difference in my family’s life, and I could do the same for others. I wanted to change as many people’s lives as possible by sharing this incredible opportunity. I went home and talked to everybody! I talked to people through my daughter’s dance classes and my son’s hockey league. I joined a gym to meet new people. I never stopped talking. Because of my vision and my excitement, people wanted to know more about this opportunity. I launched seven new business builders in one month, SUCCESS STRATEGY “Hold your head up and say, ‘Next!’” and two months later I was in qualification for Regional Vice President! It all happened so fast, but it wasn’t easy. I used to take things very personally, viewing every “No” as a rejection. I had to grow a thick skin and learn that you have to move forward and keep talking. Hold your head up and say, ‘Next!’ I read every book my upline suggested. I listened to every Learn & Burn and attended every meeting and training. I learned that I was coachable! I discovered that the more you talk to people, the easier it gets. It’s crazy how much I’ve grown — I’m not even the same person! I was on the hamster wheel of life and was unhappy but didn’t know it. I didn’t know how much was out there for me. I cut out a huge amount of negativity in my life and I grew into my confidence. I quit my accounting career, and now I’m home with my kids and traveling everywhere. My husband has even been able to close our contracting business! ENVP Tabatha DeBruyn and I at CNTC 2011in Calgary. My advice for those building a business is to make it all about others. Focus on the person you’re talking to. For those questioning their businesses, never give up! Everyone can succeed if they just don’t quit. For those looking at starting a business, take that leap of faith. The only way we’re going to have an amazing life is to step out of our comfort zone and do something different. And wherever you are, surround yourself with great people. ENVP Tabatha DeBruyn, I am so grateful everyday to have you in my life. You always pick me up and put me in the right direction. You’re an amazing leader and friend. NVP Mike Stowe, thanks to you and Julie for your help. I am grateful for everything you have done.
