A MINUTE
WITH MIKE
Best Wishes for a Happy
New Year!
Hard to believe we’ve
already finished 2015
and are off to Mike Pelzer
another new start.
By January’s end, we
plan on having the dining
room renovation of the
common areas completed
and near completion of the
main living room. Both areas are already painted and
after replacement of flooring, we’ll begin furniture
replacement and wall art.
We’ll then be moving to
first floor for new lighting,
paint and flooring.
As we move forward,
please ‘pardon our mess’
for progress…I’ll keep you
advised of our progress
over the next few months.
January 2016
Pardon our progress
Works begins on recarpeting the second floor Jan. 11 in the IL dining room.
Dining moved to living
room as second-floor
recarpeting begins
The dining room was a
sight to see Monday morning
as workers began tearing up
the carpet. Residents will be
served meals buffet-style in
the living room until Jan. 25.
The Ladies Luncheon
scheduled for Jan. 19 has
been canceled because GCV
will be unable to accommodate such a large group of
people. Residents are urged to
read the weekly activity update for more information on
program changes throughout
the next week.
After the dining room is
complete, workers will finish
laying carpet in the cul-desacs and hallways running
east to west on the south end
of the building.

These photographs of Bartlesville landmarks will be displayed in
Green Country Village common areas. The photos are by local photographer Larry W. Hall.
Local photographer’s works to be
displayed in GCV common areas
Looking to add a
touch of elegance and
local flavor
to its common areas,
Green
Country Village will
Larry W. Hall
display
photos of Bartlesvillearea landmarks by local
photographer Larry W.
Hall.
Hall retired from his
30-year career in human
resources in 2011 and
decided to make his
photography hobby into
a second career.
In addition to the photos displayed at GCV, he
has published a photo
coffee-table book about
the Tallgrass Prairie, exhibited at Thomas K.
McKeon Center for Creativity in Tulsa. He also
photographed the devastation in Picher due to
lead poisoning caused
by many years of lead
mining.
Hall won seven ribbons at the 2015 Tulsa
State Fair including Best
in Class.
We are kicking off the new year
with new carpet! We appreciate
your understanding as
we move through the
process of pulling up
the old and laying the
new carpet on the secJayleen
ond floor.
Mayes
Be sure to check
your weekly updates for moved and
canceled activities. We may also
have to move or cancel something
last minute, so check the activity
boards at the front desk or in the elevators for update flyers. I will try
to keep our activities rolling as
smoothly as possible, but expect
some bumps along the way.
Speaking of bumps, we had our
annual Wellness Fair scheduled for
the end of January. Just in case carpet doesn’t go as planned, we are
going to move that to Friday, Feb.
26 from 9 a.m. to noon. Be sure to
mark your calendars for this special
event! We have already lined up
guest speakers from Dr. Russell
Chiropractic, Dolterra Essential
Oils, and Tri-County Tech Strategic
Center, and we are planning to get
even more on board. This will be a
wonderful opportunity to explore
our Wellness Dimensions and learn
about the services we can bring into
Green Country Village.

Pat Poindexter
I was born in
Bartlesville and have
lived here the majority
of my life. I graduated
from College High
School in 1970. I was
married for 19 years
and was owner and operator of Poindexter Discount Liquor. Prior
to that I was a Personal Lines Underwriter
for Winslow and Associates. I began my
career as a Realtor in 1997.
I have one daughter who graduated with
her masters in zoology from the University
of Oklahoma, so yes, I am a Sooners fan!
My daughter is married and lives in Bentonville, Ark., and is a Project Scientist
Engineer for an environmental company. I
have one granddaughter who just turned 7
months old by the name of Nora Jane. She
is the “apple of my eye”.
I have always had a passion and love for
animals and children. I have volunteered
in the past as a side-walker for the
Bluestem Therapeutic Riding program. I
donated my horse, Hi Dollar to the program in 2005. I am the founder of the
Cooper Dog Park and vice president of the
Bark Park Buddies which is a group of citizens dedicated to raising funds to maintain our city dog park.
