Lip Service has no hidden agenda. They do one thing

Lip Service has no hidden agenda. They do one thing and they
do it well - they ROCK!
There is no political message or introverted whining, no false platitudes or
sentiment. A Lip Service gig is 100% biker-friendly high-revved rock ’n’ roll! It’s
party central and it’s not for the faint-hearted.
Lip Service began life in an ammo store and developed a look and sound of their own, recently
described as ‘sleazy 80’s influenced hard rock drowned with lyrics about sex and drugs’. ‘Come
And Get It’ was released in 2008 and well received by the media with single, ‘Late Night Love
Affair’, achieving significant airplay, particularly in America and charting in Brazil.
In 2011 Lip Service supported 80s giants Dan Reed (The Dan Reed Network) and, later, Ricky
Warwick (The Almighty, Thin Lizzy) and release a follow up 6 track EP entitled ‘Six of the
Best’. Skid, from Sleazeroxx.com, probably best describes the Lip Service mission statement:
“Lip Service are trying their damndest to bring the debauchery of the ‘80’s roaring into the
current millennium”.
“We’re not afraid to Rock”, say Neil (Lip Service frontman), “put us anywhere – small intimate
gig or on a big stage, and we’ll give you a show. You’ll leave with a smile on yer face and a
sweat on yer brow”.
Later in 2011 saw Lip Service join forces with Summers (www.officialsummers.com) to create
the New Rock Godz tour and they played all across the South, from Bristol, through Brighton
and Guildford to London and others, bringing a slice of pure rock to the country. This tour was
well received and gave people a taste of what was to come.
In 2012, Lip Service went back into the studio to produce their latest album – Jack n Coke. The
10 – track studio album was recorded in Southampton and mixed/mastered by Ricky Summers.
The album also includes a cover of a Zodiac Mindwarp track (‘Backseat Education’) for which
the great Zod himself has wished the band well. Neil named the album after his favourite drink
and some of the album tracks will become stalwarts of any Lip Service set list for a while to
come.
“We’re so proud of the album and I’m proud of the writing. It was fun to record and also to work
with Ricky. We even wrote one of the tracks in the recording studio, now that’s old school, really
80s!” says Neil.
Another highlight of 2012 was appearing at Gosfest (Gosport Waterfront Festival) on the South
coast.
Late 2012 – early 2013 has been a very busy but rewarding time for Lip Service. Playing their
own headlining tour, Lip Service went on to sell out several of the dates, notably Brighton,
Bristol and Southampton, and later this year the band have a return invite to play the Gosport
Waterfront Festival. 2013 will also see the band release Jack n Coke, and this will be backed up
with another tour.
What began in an ammo store has now turned into a full frontal assault; Lip Service is explosive!

Reviews
Reviews of ‘Six of the Best’ (most recent):
Axl Rose-style arrogance. Not surprisingly, GN’R is clearly their chief influence, as the fullyengorged sleaze-metal epics on this EP sound like natty, punk damaged Guns puking in the
gutter. Gleefully obnoxious. Classic Rock (2010) (see above)
Dripping with ample amounts of sleaze and attitude as Fielding once again has that Tom Keifer
snarl down pat. However, Lip Service is heavier and nastier than Cinderella ever was, taking
their successful ‘80s sound and smashing it through your speakers. Not to be outdone though
are the new band cohorts who twist and turn like a whirlwind around every growl from the
frontman. ‘Bustin’ my Balls’ showcases the rhythm section, a song that thumps along until it
works its way under your skin. In fact that may be this band’s greatest gift – the ability to keep
things simple yet entertaining at the same time This EP does exactly what it was meant to – to
get the Lip Service name out there and drive some attitude driven sleaze into your cranium at
the same time. Sleaze Roxx (2010)
Reviews of ‘Late night Love Affair’:
Woah, and there I was thinking that the secret recipe for this sort of sleazy twin guitar attack got
lost for good when some bozo drunkenly dropped it in a Sunset Strip gutter back in ’84! (The
trax) sounds as though it’s been recorded on the same set-up as an early Faster Pussycat,
gem... Bubblegum Slut Magazine
For those that long for the early days of Cinderella, look no further than Lip Service. Vocalist
Neil Fielding has a Tom Keifer fetish and is capable of ending each lyrical line with that throaty
growl. Sleaze Roxx
Reviews of ‘Come And Get It’:
A tribute to cliches from these Southampton 'eadbangers. Twin guitars, a heavy Skid Row
fixation, and a sexy schoolgirl cover you could masturbate to. Classic Rock
Lip Service is a new, exciting British band, bringing together clean-shaven NWOBHM riffola and
80’s US hair metal in a car crash of raw, shiny, and hard bodied metal. Clearly influenced by the
glam inclined stadium pop metal of bands like Poison and Cinderella, with vocalist Neil
Fielding’s cut glass rasp a ringer for Tom Keifer’s cawing croon. RevelationZ Magazine
Biker rock with sleaze influences. 8/10. www.rockingboy.de
‘Cream’ could be the best Lip Service song I’ve heard yet. It opens with a Cult influenced groove
that is one of the most addictive rhythms I’ve heard since Salty Dog’s ‘Come Along’. ‘Back to
School’ has a similar feel to Skid Row’s ‘Piece Of Me’, while ‘Bang Bang’ sounds like something
Ace Frehley would have written. Vocalist Neil Fielding sounds like a cross between Tom Keifer
and Sebastian Bach and his bandmates are no slouches either! Like any sleaze band worth
their weight in gold Lip Service has sex on the mind, from the lyrics right down to the sexy
schoolgirl on the front cover. Sleaze Roxx
Lip Service continue to take rock 'n' roll right back to the original Southern slang meaning of the
phrase, taking as the basics of their trade a lyric sheet ripped straight out of the classifieds
section of a smut mag. Bugglegum Slut Magazine
Simply brimming with that exciting classic rock vibe...very reminiscent of the good old heady
days of the 80's when you were rockin' out to the likes of Kixx and LA Guns at your local rock
club. Rockbabe Recommends, www.therockshow.co.uk
