Sedation Preoperative instructions: What follow up care is needed?

Sedation Preoperative instructions:
The following instructions must be followed or your
appointment will be cancelled and rescheduled:
Unless using nitrous oxide sedation alone, you MUST have an escort bring you, remain here at
Mint* Dental Studio, and take you home. You must also have someone stay with you for the first
12-24 hours to be sure you are safe. Dress comfortably in short sleeves and wear flat shoes.
Take all your normal medications as prescribed with a sip of water, unless directed differently.
Call our office if you have a cold or other illness. We may wish to reschedule.
IV sedation patients: Do not eat or drink anything for 6 hours prior.
What follow up care is needed?
The sedative medications may remain in your body
for 24-48 hours. The following is necessary:
As mentioned above, you must have someone stay with you for the first 12-24 hours.
If your memory is impaired, you may forget that you turned on the stove or took medications.
Refrain from activities that could be harmful and allow others to monitor your actions.
Please call Mint* (406-586-5880) if you have:
Repeated nausea and/or vomiting.
Anything but an uneventful recovery.
