The seniors that attend SADH have been very busy working on several projects and volunteer opportunities. Our gardens are filling out and we’ve been able to pick several items from our “Giving Gardens” this summer. We have oregano, and lettuce to give to St Susan’s Kitchen! Our tomatoes are out but still green. We’ve had a few beans and our carrots are coming along. Mother Nature has been very generous watering our plants. Now we need warm heat and we’ll really see things starting to grow. Brian Samuelson completed his 2 flower boxes to donate for the Laurel Run. We also donated a small wall hanging quilt that our seniors made in their quilting class several years ago. I’d like to welcome 2 new staff; Cindy Cook and Kristen Harmon. We have enjoyed two summer picnics— thanks to the help of Tammy who works in the kitchen. For our last picnic we decided to invite a few quests. Each person sent signed invitations to their Agency Hab Spec, MSC and SC asking them to join in our August Picnic. Together all of us at this event are demonstrating our First Alliance from the Code of Ethics. It is a great opportunity to use several components from the Code; Personal Centered Supports and Relationships. SENIOR ADULT DAY HAB.
