Religious Education Classes will begin this Sunday, September 18, 2016, after the 10:00am
Mass and should conclude weekly around 12:00 to 12:15pm. Class Schedules will be given
to your child on the first day of Religious Education and you can always see a copy of the
schedule on our web site www.stannshinnston.com. Also, on the first day of class, your
child (children) will be given an envelope for donations to help defray the cost of the
Religious Education Program. Requested donations remain the same this year at $10.00 per
child not to exceed $40.00 per family. Please place your child (children’s) name(s) on the envelope so they
will be given proper credit. PARENTS: IF YOUR CHILD IS NEW OR HAS NEVER REGISTERED FOR
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION AT ST. ANN’S, THEN YOU ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A
REGISTRATION FORM. REGISTRATION FORMS ARE AVAILABLE FROM YOUR CHILD’S
TEACHER OR THE PROGRAM COORDINATORS, GINA TATE OR MARY CHEUVRONT.
Ice Cream Social after 10:00am Mass for everyone’s enjoyment and to welcome our children
back to Religious Education Classes. Please stop over and enjoy some dessert before your
dinner.
The Men’s Group will meet this Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 6:00pm in the Social Hall.
St. Ann’s Altar Society will be hosting a Pizza Sale, in conjunction with the Lincoln Home
Game, on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Eat in, take out, and pre ordering
are available. Call 304-592-0077 on the 23rd after 10:00am.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) will begin in a few short weeks. Anyone wishing to join
the Catholic Faith or anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith are invited. If anyone
is interested, please see Father Tom or visit or call the office at 304-592-2733.
The Immaculate Conception Parish Nurse Ministry is proud to present: Become AWARE 2 UNDERAGE
DRINKING FORUM which will be presented on Sunday, September 25 from 4pm to 6:00pm in the IC
Parish Center. There will be food, a speaker, a peer recovery coach, a panel of students from the different
high schools, door prizes and a poster contest. We want to educate teens and their parents about underage
drinking. So, teens bring your parents and your friends and join us for a very informative program.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Give something, however small, to the one in need. For it is not small to one who has nothing. Neither is
it small to God, if we have given what we could. – St. Gregory Nazianaen
If you or someone in your family is ill, is in the hospital , or is in a nursing home, please let Fr. Tom know
so that he can come and visit.
Volunteeers from St. Ann’s are badly needed to support the St. Ann Teams who
deliver Meals to the needy every Monday. The deliveries begin at 9:00am and are
usually completed by 10:30 or 11:00am. (Other church’s volunteers in the Shinnston
area deliver on the remaining days of the week, but Monday is St. Ann’s day to
deliver). St. Ann’s currently has only two full teams and one partial team to cover
every Monday’s deliveries throughout the month. Please consider helping…it is very
rewarding, and is so appreciated by the people who would otherwise have nothing to eat, if you didn’t
bring it to them. Call Mary Ann Ferris at 304-592-2061 if you can help.
If you would like to offer mass intentions for any loved one or friends who have passed
away or for anyone who is seriously ill, please consider doing so. Mass Intention cards
are available on tables at the entrance of the church. Please give the completed card and
stipend to Mary K. in the office or you can place the card and stipend in an envelope
“marked Mass Intention” and drop in the offertory basket at any collection.
