DAY 2: LUXOR (MOB/ L/ D) Upon arrival, proceed to tour the Temple of Luxor. The most significant Contribution to the temple was done by Pharaoh Ramses II, among which six looming statues of himself guarding the entrance. Next, visit the Karnak Temple which comprises a vast mix of decayed temples, chapels, pylons and other buildings. Stop at Perfume Factory where scents made from lotus flower, papyrus or jasmine oil. Thereafter, transfer to 5 star Deluxe Nile Cruise. DAY 3: LUXOR ESNA EDFU (B/ L/ D) This morning, we cross the West Bank and visit the tombs of Valley of the Kings where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, tombs where constructed for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (the Eighteenth to Twentieth Dynasties of Ancient Egypt). Next, visit Queen Hatshepsut Temple. Stop by the site of the temple of Amon-Ofis III to see the Colossi of Memnon. DAY 4: EDFU KOM OMBO ASWAN (B/ L/ D) At Edfu, you will visit the astonishingly well-preserved mesmeric Temple of Horus using the either coach or horse carriages. On guard at the entrance are 2 very beautiful black granite statues depicting Horus in the form of falcon. Return to cruise and continue to Kom Ombo, a prosperous agricultural and industrial city. Next, visit Temple of Kom Ombo, an unusual double temple built during the Ptolemaic dynasty in the Egyptian town of Kom Ombo. Thereafter, continue sailing to Aswan. DAY 5: ASWAN (B/ L/ D) After breakfast, proceed for a tour of the Aswan High Dam, completed in 1971 by the Russians to provide hydro-electric power and electrical supply to the rest of the country. Next, we visit The Unfinished Obelisk. Set sail on a felucca (or motor boat) to the island of Egelika where the Temple of Philae stands today. During the construction of the old dam in 1904, the sample was submerged into the flooded river for sometime. With the help of UNESCO, the temples were reconstructed. Note: If time permits, you may have the opportunity to visit Abu Simbel, the famous temples of Ramses II (own expenses) DAY 6: ASWAN CAIRO (B/ L/ D) This morning, take a domestic flight back to Cairo and visit the world’s famous museum – the Egyptian Museum. Learn the history and see 120,000 antiquities collection of the great Pharaohs. Enjoy the exclusive arrangement at Mummy Room to view the mummies. Next, visit the Citadel of Saladin whereby we can get a breath-taking view of the whole city and Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Spend sometime at the Khan El-Khalili, the largest Bazar in Middle East. Note: If you are taking an early morning flight, packed breakfast will be provided. DAY 7: CAIRO - MEMPHIS - SAKKARA - CAIRO (B/ L/ D) Today, visit Memphis where Statue of Ramses II awaits us. Travel to Sakkara to view the Step Pyramid of Zoser I, dating from 2686BC, the oldest in the world. Next, enjoy a camel ride before we proceed to the great Pyramids of Giza. About 350m from the Cheops’ pyramid stand the great Sphinx. This gigantic statue represents a lion with a human head, which was said to be likeness of Chephren standing guard over his tomb. Stop by a Papyrus Institute where can find how the ancient Egyptians used the papyrus for writing and can buy some souvenirs for your friends. DAY 8: CAIRO – ALEXANDRIA – CAIRO (B/ L/ D) After breakfast, drive through the Nile Delta to the second largest city in Egypt – Alexandria. Upon arrival, see the Catacombs of Kom El-Shukafa and Pompey’s Pillar, a red 25m granite column constructed in honor of Emperor Diocletian. Taking in the fresh breeze of Mediterranean Sea, enjoy the El Montazah Palace Gardens and El Morsi Abu El Abas Mosque, the city’s largest mosque dedicated to patron saint of Alexandria’s fisherman and sailors. Drive to Qait Bay Fort and New Library of Alexandria for a photo-stop before returning back to Cairo. DAY 9: CAIRO – OLD CAIRO - CAIRO (B/ L/ D) After breakfast, discover the ancient sites and culture of Coptic Christians on a tour through Old Cairo. Visit Abu Serga where the Holy family sorts refuge, and Ben Ezra, one of the oldest synagogues in Cairo. See the Hanging Church, the oldest church in Egypt and learn about Christian life in Egypt, a country where Christianity is a minority. DAY 10: CAIRO SINGAPORE (B) You are free at leisure till our departure transfer to the airport for flight home with fond memories of your vacation with CTC Travel!
