The Origins of Nubia - SOAS University of London

The Sudanese Nubian Association and SOAS, University of
London present a lecture by Professor Charles Bonnet
The Origins of Nubia:
Discovery of a Capital and an African City (Kerma/Dukki Gel)
“For 50 years, a SwissFranco-Sudanese
archaeological mission has
been studying the heritage of
northern Sudan.
After searching the Nubian
capital of Kerma, we found
the remains of an
extraordinary ancient city:
Dukki Gel.
It is thus possible to
understand the relationships
of Nubia with the kingdoms
of Central Sudan and Egypt.
This research brings new
information on the origins of
the history of Sudan”
