[Interviewer (I)] What is Sheikh Abu Baker’s opinion about Obama’s speech to the
Islamic World, which he presented at Cairo University?
[Sheikh Abu Baker Ba’ashir (AB)] Because I am a Muslim, I will throw a response that
stems from the evidence in Qur’an and Sunnah. In the Qur’an, it has been proven that
from the traits of the Kuffar [infidel] is their rejection of Islam; as there’s no infidel who
accepts Islam. The Jews and the Christians will not be content until you [are forced to]
follow their creed, religion and throught. The Muslim [person] who grasps on Islam will
not satisfy them. This used to be the trait of a human being, so the infidels are fighting
Islam just mentioned in the Qur’an; and this is the second.
Third, the infidels create deceit; the meaning of creating deceit is to create methods that
are hostile to Islam, which one time used extreme methods like the devil Bush, and
another time using soft methods like Lucifer Obama. Yes, all of them are infidels. Also
Obama; he is an infidel who cannot be trusted, and he is a devil that cannot be trusted,
and the matter intensifies when we become aware that he is closer to the Jews than the
devil Bush, and even if they were Christians. So, any goodness that comes out of the
Americans tongue, all of which is deceit and lies and falsehood; what is their intention?
Because the devil bush did not succeed in his war against the Mujahideen using extreme
methods, so now the devil Obama wants to fight the Mujahideen using soft methods.
Meaning, encouraging the Muslims to stand with them and to fight the so-called
extremists, and what is intended in extremists are the Mujahideen. But, in the past, bush
used the extreme methods, and he declared war against what is called “global terrorism,”
which in reality is the global jihad. He said: he who supports us must fight them and he
who does not support us against them would be fighting us; this was Bush’s policy.
And he was defeated with regret until the Day of Judgment Allah-willing. Then Obama
succeeded him, so he solidified his [Bush] policy and he did not change the war against
Islam. And the first to fight them [Americans] were the Mujahideen; meaning the
Muslims active in defending Islam with Jihad. Those are the ones who fought them, and
now Obama is deceiving the Muslims in order for them to stand by him against the
Mujahideen so it seems as if he’s establishing a Sunni emirate along with some Shiites
who do not support the Iranian government. This Sunni emirate, which will try to face the
Mujahideen from the al-Qaeda in Iraq; those are the mujahideen of the Islamic State.
Then, Obama’s entire speech is deceit just as [mentioned] in the Qur’an. Deceit meaning

falsehood with aims to deceive the Islamic Ummah as much as the ability to deceive in
facing the mujahideen, and the aim is unchanged; meaning, fighting the Mujahideen
because now they find it hard to fight al-Qaeda; yes, they find it hard. Bush failed highly
in the confrontation, and while the days pass and al-Qaeda keeps going forward, while
their [Americans’] losses are increasing, until their economy collapsed.
And in reality, Bush and Obama do not accept the civilization of Islam; this is what we
have to clarify. Bush and Obama are two faces for the same coin. Arabs say ‘the
grandfather of all dogs is one.’ The grandfather of the dogs and the pigs is one; the
grandfather of the dog Bush and the pig Obama are one; meaning, the Jews. They cannot
be trusted. The way to face them is to hit both of their necks and the matter will be done!
There’s no need for negotiation and no need for truce, as this revelation is from the
Qur’an. They have announced their war against Islam, isn’t that so? This is also how the
Muslim and also the revelation from the Qur’an. The answer from me is suitable to what
is in the Qur’an and the Sunnah; it is forbidden on us to be soft in confronting them, and
we have to be extreme because they announced their war on Islam, even if they are using
deceitful methods. But, he who does not declare war on us, we must give him peace, but
those Americans, and Englishmen and Europeans have declared war on Islam, they
declared war even though they use deceitful methods, and they will not halt their policies
to a stop to destroy Islam, and they remain, because if they use lenient methods and do
not fight Islam, would we claim that there’s a mistake in the Qur’an? Impossible. Then,
the infidels will not accept our religion.
[I] Some of the Sheikhs and the advocates praise and hope for benevolence form
Obama’s speech, what is the Sheikh’s opinion on that?
[AB] There are ignorant ones among the Ulama, and there are delusional ones (loving life
and hating death), and some of them are advocates for the Marines [the Americans], and
those who praise the devil cannot be from the truthful Ulama. Impossibe. How can the
devil be praised?
And all the infidels are devils just as in the Qur’an, then, he who fights Islam cannot be
praised, cannot be and impossible for him to be honest and clear uness he stops fighting
the Mujahideen. But, they remain fighting the Mujahideen, who they call Muslim
extremists, or what they call “extremists.” But the truth of their intention is [to capture]
the mujahideen because they truthfully know that if Islam was empty of Jihad, then it
would be easier for them drive [or control] it. And they know that as long as there are
those who wage Jihad from the Islamic Ummah, they [enemies] will find danger. So, it
inevitable to destroy them; this is the matter, and that [Jihad] became obliged against
Jews.
[I] Some claimed that the Mujahideen are the ones who attacked the worshippers
during the Ishaa’ prayer in Thailand; what is your opinion?
[AB] This is impossible. It is stupid news. The Mujahideen cannot condone the shedding
of Muslims’ blood. If the enemy has arrested a Muslim person, and we planned to attack
this enemy, we must take him [prisoner] into consideration before we injure him,
especially those Muslims who do not intend to [commit] harm! They refuse to kill
[Muslims]. This policy cannot be but injustice.

The Mujahideen intend to support Allah and do not fear other than Him. They
[Mujahideen] are obliged to kill the infidels not the Muslims. If they were [truly] from
the Mujahideen, then they must attack the Church or Buddha’s [worship] houses and their
leaders who fight Islam. They are the ones who should be attacked. So, the party that
[should have] claimed attacking Muslims is the Thai Army.
[I] What is the stance the Muslims in
Indonesia must take towards what has hit
their brothers in Thailand?
[AB] At least, the Muslims should put out
shouts [or outcries], at east in a protest outside
the Thailand’s Embassy, or leave for Jihad if
they can to support their brothers in “Fatani,”
and carry Jihad against the Buddhist infidels in
Thailand also.
And I personally heard the news two days ago,
then a student from Thailand came and told me
about the affairs, so I understood him.
