Instructions for Bilingual Simile or Metaphor on Peace
A metaphor is a comparison between two unlike things not using the
word “like” or “as” to make the comparison.
A simile is a way of describing something by comparing it to something
else, often using the word "like" or "as."
 Use the attached template.
 Write the metaphor or simile in your home language (choose 1 if you
have more than one language spoken at home).
 Translate into English (so that everyone can understand!) and write it on
the lines, too!
 Draw a picture that describes your metaphor or simile.
 The writing and drawing must fit within the given templates.
 Make sure to include your name, grade level, and home language at the
top of the poem template.
 Please write clearly and neatly!!

Peace is the sun's warm rays touching my face
Peace is the calm rushing waves of the ocean
Peace Simile Examples:
Peace is like a drop in a pond, spreading outward
as calm as a breeze
Peace is as warm as a blanket on a cold winter day
