Biography Fernando Aramburu (San Sebastián, 1959) has a degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Zaragoza, and currently lives in Germany. Considered one of the most outstanding writers in the Spanish language, his literary work has won the Ramón Gómez de la Serna Prize 1997, the Euskadi Prize 2001 and, for his short story collection Los peces de la amargura (Tusquets, 2006), the XI Mario Vargas Llosa NH Prize, the Dulce Chacón Prize, and the Prize of the Spanish Royal Academy 2008. The movie Bajo las estrellas based on his novel El trompetista del utopía was awarded a Goya Prize in 2008 for best adapted screenplay by the Spanish Academy of Cinema. Among his most recent novels, Años lentos (Tusquets, 2012) won the Tusquets Editores Prize for Novel 2011 and was named Book of the Year 2012 by the Booksellers of Madrid, while Ávidas pretensiones won the Biblioteca Breve Prize 2014. Bolaño died in Blanes, Spain, at the age of 50. But Juaíco conserves a pure heart and this is what Salvochea needs for his fight. However, when Salvochea dies in 1907, his dead body disappears and his former assistant completely loses control, so now the children have to take over: But some of their demons are also terribly real, like the head of the orphanage where the two girls are mistreated and harshly punished, for crimes they never committed. Now, even their secret hiding place, the rabbit hole, might not be able to protect them... Biography Jesús Cañadas was born in 1980 in Cádiz, Spain. His short stories have become famous in genre magazines as Asimov, Miasma and Aurora and formed part of the anthologies Visiones 2008, The Best of Spanish Steampunk (hence the connection to Félix Palma), Charco Negro and Presencia Humana. In 2011, he published his first novel that was shortlisted for the Scifiworld Award in 2011. The Penguin Random House Group spotted him in 2013, publishing his second novel Los nombres muertos, later shortlisted for the Celsius Award of Genre Fiction. Since then, he has been labelled as one of the most outstanding genre writers in Spain. Several of the short stories in the book received Latin-american awards and the short story A Perfect Queen has been translated to English for the National Welsh Review. Her novel Piedra, papel o tijera was elected Best Novel of the Year by Alija (Children’s and Young people’s Literature Association). It has been translated to German as Wei ein unsichtbares Band. Awards: Winner of the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis 2014 for Piedra, papel o tijera, which is the most important prize for young adult literature in Germany (besides, Inés Garland is the first LatinAmerican writer in winning this prize).
