Honorable Mayor and Council,
Summary of weekly update is attached. Key weekly activities included:
- City Manager mailed and emailed letter to property owners and tenants of bldg. 4350 on Lockhill
Selma reference No U-Turn sign IAW Council guidance.
- Crack seal of Shavano Dr. continued
- Contractor continued clearing and installation Cliffside fence
- Continued preparation for taking EST down; VFD’s were installed at Well Site # 1; Transducer was
installed at Huebner Ground Storage Tank; three blow offs installed – Tuscarora Dead End, Cliffside
& Shavano Dr.
- Water Tower taken off line Thurs and Fri for short periods. Testing continues next week. Included
training with fire department
- PW Director Peterson attended Water Utility Safety Class & Chris Graef attended water operator
class for his “D” license and Chris took his test; results back in several weeks.
- MPO / NW Military Project ; continued a coordinated social media push for online survey; Project 22
number 11 in poling of 40.
- City Manager spoke at MPO Technical Committee meeting in support of Project 22 (NW Mil Hwy
MPO Project) and observed the selection process
- Finished summary of 2013 plat activity; began summary of 2012 plat activity in order to ensure
appropriate fees were collected
- Completed and released the Compensation Study RFP; bids due on Mar 24th
- Continued Arbor Day planning and preparation; including a Blattman elementary butterfly poster
contest
- Mailed LOGO survey postcard to all residents
- A number of Code Enforcement issues were worked
- Police completed mandated TCOLE training conducted for officers (4-hours) in-house (no cost)
- Planning and Zoning Meeting successfully conducted; initiated sign ordinance review
- Mayor Werner and City Manager attended the Bexar County Suburban Cities Council and several
initiatives were presented with requests for support from local cities (more to follow)
- Coordinated update of the 18 month Master Planning Calendar
Next Week
- Extensive testing of water system with water tower off line; barring no problems will issue notice to
proceed for paint prep
- City Manager has meeting with Ron Nirenberg’s District Director to discuss requirement for sidewalk
along east shoulder of Lockhill Selma (vicinity of Shavano Creek)
- Prep for WAC meeting
