The National Governing Body
for Squash & Racketball in
Wales
Following discussions between WSF, PSA and the WSA, a document has been
developed and approved for circulation. Its purpose is to improve both match
management and the communication between referees and players.
Since all professional players will also be receiving a copy of this document, it
is important that all Referees not only take note of its content, but also use it
as often as possible in their refereeing activities.
The use of standard terminology that is understood by everyone will be a major
step forward in improving communication and enabling matches to flow with
minimal delays. We use standard terminology for marking calls (e.g. down, out,
not up), so it is only logical that the explanations for decisions should also be
standardised as far as possible, so that players who request an explanation
may receive one that is clear and simple. Following such an explanation, play
may resume without further delay

Fitness Fanatic. Use your
Squash Brain to good effect.
You ―mean‖ every shot and
put the ball into the corners.
Work your opponent out of
position, before dealing the
killer blow. Dont fall into trap
of just hitting and hoping,
‖mean it ― !!!!!
The fitter player will tire because they have had to cover so much more of the
court.
