March 5, 2017
FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT
Bestow on us, we pray, O Lord, a spirit of always pondering on what is right
and of hastening to carry it out, and, since without You we cannot exist.
May we be enabled to live according to Your will.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Please Remember Fr. Stanley Rother Memorial Administrative Building project. As you all can see the
new structure around our other beautiful facilities that is
coming up so fast. The building project is going very
smooth and on time. God has blessed us with good
weather and we were able to go further without any difficulties. The cabinets are getting fixed now. And there
still more to be done. If you have not had the opportunity
to donate to this cause, you are most welcome to do so at
any time. We can still use your donations. Your willingness to give back to God in gratitude for all He has done
for you is deeply appreciated. The people of Holy Trinity
Church have always been very generous when they see a
very genuine need. This building will stand as a lasting
legacy provided by this generation of parishioners. This
parish has been blessed by you all. You know that the
future of the parish depends on what we build like our
forefathers who have built and handed over to us. What
we build now is going to stand as a historical legacy of
who we are and what we can offer to our community and
to God. You are most welcome to join this legacy.

My Sincere Gratitude: Dur ing my vacation, a gr oup of
generous parishioners took the pain of redoing the parish
kitchen and bring it up to date. They have worked hard in
getting the new floor, wall painting, fixing the sink, getting the new refrigerator and paying for all the above said
needs and donating their timely labor as well. I am most
grateful to these generous souls. Once again they have
shown their generosity for the parish.
Grand Inauguration and Blessing of Fr. Rother Memorial
Administrative Building. The Blessing and Inaugur ation of
Fr. Rother Memorial Administrative Building will take place on
Wednesday, May 24th, at 6 p.m. Archbishop Paul Coakley,
Archbishop Emeritus Eusebius Beltran and Bishop Edward
Weisenburger and other brother priests will be here for its
blessing followed by Eucharistic Celebration and Reception in
the parish hall. Please mark your calendars for this special
event so that there would not be any conflict with the schedule
of events. More details will follow soon.

Fast & Abstinence—Ash Wednesday and Good Friday
are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days
of abstinence. For members of the Latin Catholic
Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18
until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat
one full meal. Two smaller meals may also be taken, but
not to equal a full mean. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin
Catholic Church from age 14 onward.
====================================
Fridays during Lenten days: Friday Evening Mass,
Soup Supper and Stations of the Cross. Pr ayer is one
of the three pillars of Lenten practice. Through prayer,
we raise our hearts and minds to God in thanksgiving and
praise. During Lent, we place special emphasis on prayer
and contemplation of the Passion and Death of our Lord
through expressions of popular piety such as the Stations
of the Cross and veneration of the Crucified Christ. In
order to encourage more people to participate in the Lenten Fridays, we will have the Friday Masses—only during
Lent—at 6:00 p.m. in the Church, and immediately after
the Mass we will have a soup supper served in the Parish
Hall by parish organizations, followed by Stations of the
Cross at 7:00 p.m. in the Church. I am sure that this will
allow many people to participate in all the events. Please
make use of this opportunity to fulfill your inner desire to
participate in the sufferings of Christ on Fridays.
