It has been brought to the notice of Vigilance Unit of Labour Bureau that provisions of Rule 22 of Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964 are not being adhered to scrupulously. All the Government servants are expected to know the provisions of the said Rules. HO\\,ever, the specific provisions of the Rule 22 are reproduced hereunder for information. reference and compliance thereto: A Govc.·nment Servant shalla) strictly abide by any law relating to intoxicating drinks or drugs in force in any area in which he may happen to be for the time being; (b) not be under the int1uence of any intoxicating drink or drug during the course of his duty and shall also take due care that the performance of his duties at any time is not affected in any way by the lllt1uence of such drink or drug; (c) refrain from consuming any intoxicating drink or drug in a public place; (d) not appear in a public place in a state of intoxication; (e) do 110t use any intoxicating drink or drug to excess. It is expected that every government servant scrupulously adheres to the provisions of this rule. Violation of any of the provisions of this rule will constitute good and sufficient reasons for taking disciplinary action against a Government servant under CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965 for imposing severe punishment on such Government servants as are proved guilty of violating the said rule after following prescribed disciplinary procedures. It may be noted that no more fore warning will be issued and strictest possible action vvould be taken against all those found \'iolating the aforesaid rule. (Bal Ram) Director (Vig.)
