MakingCrayons
Do you ever wonder where crayons come from? They are made in a factory. A
factory (FAK-tuh-ree) is a building where things are made in large numbers. Machines
usually help make the things. Find out how crayons are made, step by step.
Reading Tip
STEP 1 Crayons are made from wax. At the
crayon factory, the wax is melted. Then, it is
mixed with colored powder.
STEP 2 A worker pours the colored wax into
a mold. The mold has spaces shaped like
crayons. The wax fills up the spaces.
