University and Programme Information Students can choose one of the following courses: International Migration and the Crisis - This course aims to offer participants an understanding of the complex and varied nature of global migration in general and forced migration in specific and their centrality to global, regional and national processes of political, social and economic change and of the needs of displaced people themselves Urban Political Ecology on the Road - The class will be focusing on how the contemporary city depends upon its natural surrounding not only for agricultural output and land conversion, but also how natural resources shape the city’s landscape, establish and reinforce socio-spatial inequalities as well as how urban commons have recently become a battleground over which dominant urban strategies are being contested Philanthropy and Civil Society - The goal of this course is to introduce students to the role philanthropy and civil society organisations play in community life, specifically in Turkey and the United States.
