to pay for registration, though they must be listed on their guardian’s waiver.

pick up their blue spectator wristband which must be worn AT ALL TIMES.
Day-of Spectator Registration
Your supporters can also register as a spectator on-site for $40. They should head to the
“Same Day Sales” tent upon arrival. Please remind them to bring $40 and a valid photo
ID. Once they have purchased their tickets, they will receive a blue spectator wristband
which must be worn AT ALL TIMES.
Acceptable IDs:
(YES. Spectators
need to bring IDs.)
This is a primary ID
that is governmentissued with name,
signature, photo
and birth date such
as a photo driver’s
license or passport.
If you do not have a
valid ID, you will not
be allowed to enter
the event grounds.
Spectators should follow the same parking instructions as participants. All spectators
will need to check in at the base area to turn in their waivers and receive their spectator
passes.
Mudder Legion
If you have completed a Tough Mudder in the past, you will be earning your spot in Mudder Legion in Chicago. Be sure to
visit the Mudder Legion Check-In area right after registration to pick up your wristband: giving you access to exclusive Mudder Legion benefits on course. If you have earned an orange headband by participating at a past Tough Mudder event, wear it
on the course this weekend. We promise to make it worth your while.
EVENT SCHEDULE
The Five Steps of the Mudder:
1: the approach
Make your way to Mudder Village from the parking lot, ensuring you don’t forget your ID, cash,
waiver or kid in the car. When possible, print your waiver prior to event day, sign and initial
where indicated and bring it with you. There will be a limited number of waivers on site, and
you will not be able to check in without one.
2: WELCOME MUDDERS
Follow the “Registration” signs to the “Participant Check-In” tent. Have your ID and waiver in
hand and use any lane to have a staff member will check you in.
When you check in, you will be given your:
• Participant bib
• Black participant wristband: goes ON YOUR WRIST (No wristband = no mud)
• Gray bag tag: goes ON YOUR BAG (if you’re using bag drop–see below for details)
• Orange Dos XX wristband: If you are 21 or over, put this on your wrist to receive
a nice cold DOS XX in the finish chute
Mudder Legion: If you have completed a Tough Mudder in the past, you will be earning your
spot in Mudder Legion in Chicago. Be sure to visit the Mudder Legion Check-In area right
after registration to pick up your wristband: giving you access to exclusive Mudder Legion
benefits on course.
3: GET READY
FACE MARKING: After you pass through check-in, you will see black permanent markers
dangling ahead. It’s up to you to “face-mark” the Mudder behind you. This means writing their
participant bib # on their forehead and on their arm or leg. Staff will be alongside to assist. Write
legibly and feel free to get creative.
BAG DROP: Once you have your face marked, head on over to our bag drop tent if you’d like
to check your belongings. Bag drop is $10 cash. Have your cash ready when you approach bag
drop, and be sure that your GRAY tag is on your bag. Feel free to share bags with friends.
Don’t have a bag to check?: We’re offering free storage for wallets, keys and phones. We
will have storage on-site for your valuables (storage is only large enough for phones, wallets,
and keys - all other items will need to be kept at Bag Drop for $10). It will be located near Bag
Drop - ask about it there if you can’t find it. Spots are limited and will be given on a first-come,
first-served basis.
4: DON’T THROW UP
(Seriously, It’s gross)
20 minutes before your start wave, make your way to the “To Start” inflatable arch, where you’ll
get pumped up with the Mudders you’ll be sharing your wave with. After each start wave is released from the start chute, participants in the next wave will be allowed to make their way over
the walls and into the start chute.
Do not arrive at the “To Start” arch more than 25 minutes before your start wave.
5: PARTY HARD
Mudder Village is a key component of the Tough Mudder experience. It’s like New Years Eve,
reunion, and your 21st birthday all wrapped into one, but without the unfortunate decisions you
likely made at all three.
PRO TIP: Mudders don’t drink and drive. Identify your designated driver before you arrive at the event.
