How does the Earth Move Around
the Sun?
The Earth rotates on its axis. As it is rotating on
its axis, it is also traveling around the sun. The
path that the Earth travels around the sun is called
an orbit. One complete, orbit, or revolution, of
Earth around the sun takes about 365 days. A
revolution is the movement of an object around
another object.
The Earth is constantly rotating and revolving.
The rotation of the Earth causes day and night.
One complete rotation takes about 24 hours.
