Covenant Harbor Overnight Camp Packing List 1. LABEL YOUR ITEMS. Please write your camper’s first and last name where possible, especially on disposable cameras. 2. Please pack with your camper. It will help them know what they have to wear throughout the week and what to pack to go home. 3. Personalize this list . . . Which towel did you pack, the blue or red one? Weather at Covenant Harbor: Our weather varies throughout the day with cool mornings and hot mid-days and afternoons. Weather also depends on the week your child attends camp. June evenings are cool, late July can be very humid and hot. Warmer clothes may be comfortable in the mornings or evenings while shorts, t-shirts, and tank tops might be good for an afternoon. Campers may change multiple times in one day. We do have occasional rain; an extra pair of shoes might be nice in case the first get soaked. Before you pack, check a weather website for the most up to date forecast. (Our zip code: 53147). Clothing choices: Please do not bring your best clothes to camp, things may get dirty, stained, or lost. We want all our campers to feel comfortable while they are at camp. For that reason, we ask that campers and our staff dress modestly. If an item of clothing is too revealing, we will ask the camper to change. Our high ropes (climbing tower/zip line) course requires closed toe shoes and longer shorts or pants. Pier 30 Navigator campers: Please dress appropriately for your registered “Skill”. Certain skills require specific clothing. Girl campers in Canoeing, Sailing, Snorkeling, and Watersports are required to wear a one-piece bathing suit. Horsemanship requires long pants and sturdy shoes. Adventure skills such as Skateboard/Inline Skating, X-treme Adventure, and Tarzan Swing & Climb require closed-toe shoes, longer shorts or pants. Basketball, Volleyball, Bait n’Tackle, Flag Football and X-Treme camp require closed toe/running shoes. What Not to Bring: In order to create a safe, fun environment and new opportunities for campers, there are several things campers cannot bring to Harbor. Campers aren’t allowed to bring cell phones or any electronic devices including media players, ipods/mp3 players, handheld electronic games, etc. Campers will have one opportunity to turn in cell phones at the beginning of the week, any cell phones found later will be confiscated and may result in the camper being sent home. Campers are also not allowed to bring pets, firearms, weapons of any kind, fireworks, tobacco, alcohol or drugs. If any electronic device is found, the staff member will confiscate it and return to parent at check out. Campers bringing weapons, drugs, etc. will be subject to immediate dismissal. Lost and Found: Covenant Harbor is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. At Check-out, lost and found items are brought to a designated area. Once an item is discovered as “missing”, please talk to a staff member while you are here, or call the office M-F, 8-5. Items can be mailed, but we ask for shipping reimbursement. At the end of the summer season, unclaimed items are donated to charity. For health reasons, socks, underwear, toothbrushes, used soap, etc. will be thrown out. Snacks: Campers are served 3 meals a day, with each meal providing options to enjoy. Campers also have access to the Canteen (snack shop) each afternoon. We discourage campers from bringing other snacks. If you must bring snacks, it is required that are in sealed containers. We look forward to this summer!!
