REGISTRATION BOOKLET Camp Sanitary Code: The Mt. Kisco Teen Travel Camp is regulated by the Westchester County Department of Health. Our camps meet the very strict regulations set forth by the D.O.H. Camp Staff: TEEN TRAVEL CAMP Only the top applicants are hired to work at any of our camps each summer. ALL employees undergo a thorough background screening and verification each year. We only hire those who can prove that they are motivated, responsible, mature and reliable…the best of the best! New Trips this Summer!! What is the Mt. Kisco Teen Travel Camp? The Mt. Kisco Teen Travel Camp is a municipal traveling day camp owned and operated by the Mt. Kisco Recreation Commission (Village/Town of Mt. Kisco). This coed program is open to Mt. Kisco residents entering grades 6th through 9th. The camp will operate for a total of 6 weeks during the summer (2 sessions each with 3 weeks) from Tuesdays through Fridays. Most camp days are 9:00am – 3:00pm however, some days are earlier and/or later depending on the trip destination. Campers will meet and be dismissed at Leonard Park. A detailed calendar and weekly schedule will be mailed out to you 2 weeks prior to the beginning of camp. This summer we are going to have lots of new trips! We are planning some outdoor adventure trips, team building trips, go cart racing, sporting events, water slides, just to name a few! GENERAL INFORMATION CAMP REGISTRATION BEGINS ON: WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2017 9:00AM – 4:00pm Village Hall, 104 Main Street ATTIRE: All campers will receive 2 Teen Travel Camp t-shirts. Campers are required to wear their Teen Travel Camp shirt every day. Some trips will require special clothing (i.e. Swimming or hiking trips). The weekly schedule will have more details on attire for each day. BE ON TIME: It is imperative that campers arrive at camp on day each day. We cannot “hold the bus” for anyone who may be running late. REGISTRATION: Campers must be Mt. Kisco Residents entering grades 6th - 9th . Registrations take place at the Recreation Office inside of Village Hall (104 Main Street). This year we are accepting mail in registrations. Mail in registrations will be opened on February 2, 2017, as priority is given to those who register in person. If you mail in your registration, please call the Recreation Office to confirm that we have received. Regular Recreation Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm. Space is limited in this program and it fills up quickly. PERSONAL ITEMS: Mt. Kisco Recreation is not responsible for personal items that may be lost, stolen or misplaced. Please do not send campers with excessive amount of money or expensive items. MONEY: All admissions to any of our trip destinations are paid for. If you child wishes to bring cash to purchase food or souvenirs, please be reminded that it is their responsibility to hold their own items. ILLNESS: If your child is ill and has a communicable disease, PLEASE do not send them to camp that day. CAMP APPLICATION: Camp Applications/Registration Forms MUST be complete in order to be enrolled in any of our camp programs. We CANNOT accept incomplete paperwork. Any incomplete paperwork will be returned and your space in the program will not be saved. BEHAVIOR: Campers are expected to be well behaved and to follow our rules. In this packet you will find a copy of our “Behavior Policy” that must be signed by both the camper and their parent/guardian and returned prior to the beginning of camp. This policy details our camp rules and the steps that will be taken in the event of misbehavior. Please read our policy carefully with your child(ren). RAINY DAYS: In the event of inclement weather and we are not able to travel to our planned destination, alternate plans will be made (i.e. movies, bowling, etc.). WELCOME PACKETS: You should receive a “Welcome Packet” in the mail approximately 1-2 weeks before camp begins. This packet will contain detailed trip and camp information as well as dismissal permission slips that will need to be signed and returned on the first day of camp. CAMP SWIMMING: ALL campers are required to participate in a swim test prior to attending any trips that involve swimming. Campers who do not pass the swim test may not be able to attend certain trips. POOL PERMITS: Participants in the Teen Travel Camp are not required to purchase season pool permits. Please note, that if your child is planning on going to the Memorial Pool after camp hours, they will need to purchase a permit. DISMISSAL: If you chose to dismiss your child to the Memorial Pool after each camp day, please note that during periods of inclement weather the pool is closed and your child will need to be picked up immediately. TRAFFIC: There are times when the bus may return to the park a few minutes late due to traffic. If the bus is running more than 15 minutes late, we will alert you via “Remind™” (please see additional information about “Remind™”) REGISTRATION: Campers must be Mt. Kisco Recreation” - 2 forms on identification, 1 valid government issued photo ID & 1 piece of mail (rent/mortgage statements, etc. are acceptable.) CAMP DATES: Session I: Wednesday, 7/5/17 – Friday, 7/21/17 (No Camp Tuesday, July 4, 2017) Session II: Tuesday, 7/24/17 – Friday, 8/11/17 Participants have the option of registering for one or both sessions. There is a discount for registering for the entire 6 weeks. CAMP FEES: Session I or II (3 Weeks) Resident $835 Eligible Non-Resident $1,085 Both Sessions (6 Weeks) $1,450 $1,910 PLEASE MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO: “MOUNT KISCO RECREATION” Registration fees include: admissions, tickets or participation at the destination. We do not provide extra money for souvenirs and extras. For some of our trip destinations, lunch will be included, while some destinations campers will need to bring money or a bag lunch. Details for each trip and what campers need to bring for that day will be sent to you prior to the beginning of camp.
