Item is a noun which names a separate piece of article, news, or information. You
would be able to read an “item” in a newspaper or in a magazine.

positive
Positive is an adjective which describes a person or thing that is certain, not
questionable. We also describe people who are positive because they are without
negativity. The opposite of positive is negative. In math, integers are described as
positive or negative depending on which side of the number line they sit.

reside
Reside is a verb which sounds much like a word you know, resident. Reside
means to dwell or live in a place for a period of time. Where do you reside? The
answer to that question would be your address.

Select is a verb which means to make a choice. Select shows up as noun with its
familiar “ion” ending in selection. This weekend, instead of saying, “I want to eat
cereal for breakfast,” say, “I wish to select cereal for breakfast.”
