world. Today, as it was thousands of years ago, Egypt is still a land of unique opportunities for learning. From the
Valley of the Kings and the graceful cruising on the River Nile, to the hustle of Cairo, you will discover spectacular

DAY 1
Relax and enjoy our scheduled flight from the UK.
Cairo
Cairo is the capital of Egypt and has long been a centre of the region's political and cultural
life. Even before the city of Cairo was established in the 10th century, the land was the site of
important settlements whose remains are still visible today in parts of Old Cairo. With its
proximity to the Great Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza, Cairo is the perfect base from which to
discover the rich cultural and historic heritage of Egypt.
Tonight we will enjoy dinner in a local restaurant.
Our accommodation for the next three night(s) will be in Cairo.
DAY 2
Giza
Giza is the third largest city in Egypt, sitting on the outskirts of the suburbs of Cairo on the
west bank of the Nile. Giza is most famous as the location of the Giza Plateau, site of some of the
most impressive ancient monuments in the world, including a complex of ancient royal mortuary and
sacred structures, and a large number of pyramids and temples.
Driving Tour of Giza
Enjoy a Driving Tour of Giza, to see the world-famous Great Pyramids, the Solar Boat Museum and
the legendary Sphinx.
Sakkara
Sakkara is a vast, ancient burial ground in Egypt, serving as the necropolis for the Ancient
Egyptian capital, Memphis. Saqqara features numerous pyramids, including the world famous Step
Pyramid, as well as a number of mastabas.
Step Pyramid of King Zoser
Visit the Step Pyramid of King Zoser history's first stone building dating to the 27th century BC.
Memphis
Memphis was the world’s first imperial city, founded around 3100 BC by King Menes and located at the
point where Upper and Lower Egypt met along the Nile. The remains here include two temples and may
important pieces of statuary.

DAY 3
Egyptian Museum of Antiquities
Visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, featuring the world’s most extensive collection of ancient
Egyptian artefacts, covering more than 3,000 years of history. Highlights of our visit include
Tutankhamun’s Treasure, discovered in the Valley of the Kings in 1922 by Howard Carter; and the
Mummy Room, featuring 11 of Egypt’s most illustrious pharaohs.
Saladin's Citadel Fortress
Discover the site of the magnificent Mohammed Ali Mosque and other Islamic architecture.
Khan el-Khalili Market
Explore the vivid Khan el-Khalili Market, a traditional Egyptian bazaar. Built in 1382, the ‘Khan’
represents the market tradition that established Cairo as a major centre of trade and comprises one
of Cairo's most important shopping areas. In addition to many craft vendors, there are a variety of
coffeehouses, restaurants, and street food stalls available in the market.

DAY 4
Luxor
The modern city of Luxor was once the site of the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes, the capital of
Egypt during the New Kingdom. Surrounded by an impressive number of ancient ruins, Luxor has
frequently been called the “world's greatest open-air museum.”
Temple of Luxor
Tour the Temple of Luxor, which was dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Built
by Amenophis III, the walls are decorated with some of the finest carvings in Egypt. Walk along the
Avenue of the Sphinxes to the First Pylon, built by Ramses II; the Mosque of Abu al Haggag; the
Processional Colonade; and the impressive Great Sun Court, with fine decorations developed between
the reigns of Amenophis and Alexander the Great.
This evening, dinner will be provided in a local restaurant.
Our accommodation for the next three nights will be in Luxor.
DAY 5
Valley of the Kings
Explore the Valley of the Kings, a vast city of the dead, where elaborate tombs of the pharaohs were
carved into the mountain. It was here that Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamun’s Tomb in 1922.
The tombs were intended to be secure places where the mummies could rest, ensuring the deceased
pharaohs a happy afterlife.
Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut
Visit the stately Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and other wonders of the past, including the
Valley of Nobles, Valley of the Queens, Colossi of Memnon and Temple of Medinet Habu.
This evening, dinner will be provided in a local restaurant.
DAY 6
Karnak Temple
Visit the magnificent Karnak Temple, which for 1,500 years was the most important place of worship
in the country and was dedicated to the god Amun. More than just a temple, it was an intellectual
center, and every pharaoh of note contributed to the massive complex. Highlights will include the
Precinct of Amun, Seti II’s Shrine, the Temple of Ramses II, the Great Hypostyle Hall, and the
Sanctuary of Amun.

DAY 6
Free Time
We will have some free time for shopping and exploration.
This evening, dinner will be provided in a local restaurant.
DAY 7
Our rewarding and enjoyable tour comes to an end as our Tour Director accompanies us to the
airport on our final day.
